Hi -
I have a Yamaha HTR-5630 receiver w a 5.1 system and polk audio speakers as my front l and r. The receiver is putting out far more sound to the r channel than the left. Its not the connections, wires, or speakers - I have swapped out all of those and the issue remains. I can partially correct it with the balance adjustment, but its still pretty severe. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

The problem is universal in inputs - CD, DVD, and FM tuner. However, it does not replicate in headphones - there the balance is perfectly even.
No prob on the clarification. No rears hooked up right now (although problem existed when they were). All others hooked directly into the receiver using standard speaker wire (all same guage - I believe 16-guage wire) and a mono cable for the sub-woofer.
Actually, before you enter the set up, do this. Find a AA battery (AAA, doesn't matter). Unhook the front L / R speakers from the receiver. Now, test one speaker at a time. Take one wire end and hold it to the flat (-) part of the battery. With the other wire end, lightly tap the (+) battery end and listen for the pop in your speaker (don't worry, this wont hurt the speaker). Then, do the same to the other speaker. Compare the volume of the popping sound. Is there an audible difference between the L and R?
On HT receivers, you can adjust the speaker settings to large or small or none on each speaker. Additionally, you can adjust the volume level to each speaker. You can then run a test tone. Have you done this yet?
Are the L,R,C,and RR hooked directly into the receiver, or, into a sub? Sorry, love to give you an answer right away, just need to understand how it's all hooked up.
Does this happen on any specific input? Is the problem replicated using the tuner? Using headphones, is the problem replicated?
