E835 distortion My fairly new (at the time) e835 mic started sounding poorly (distorted) way to soon in its pampered life. Is there anything that can be repaired/replaced for considerably less than the cost of a new one? Thanks

It is very good brand first try to get ride off humidity and wet by putting it with some rice in plastic box and leave it for a couple of days(rice absorb wet and humidity).if it is not working good change the mic capsule.

My e835 goes dead occasionally during performances. It's always on a Mic stand which is stationary. Suddenly there's no sound. If I unplug the cable from the mic and plug it back in it works again. I've...

I'd undo the set screw and very gently pull out the connector just a bit from the body and clean up the 3 xlr leads with a fine handheld (available at any car parts store) brass wirebrush or fine steel wool. You can also buy a product/kit from Caig Labs called De-Oxit and just apply it with the little brush supplied (with kit) or a foam (not cotton) swab instead of opening it up.

Are e835 mics okay on a system using phantom power?

If the microphone is ballanced there is no problem. Only XLR unballanced would be a problem.

Distortion on vocal reproduction on Vocalist Live 2. Even with input volume down to minimum a loud vocal performance produces distortion on single voice and harmony output.

You need to check the actual signal levels to make sure they are within the specs for the unit. The mic input is low impedance. Your mic should be like a Shure SM58 or equivalent. The output is fairly high... up to +14DB which will require you to turn down the trims on a mixer this runs into or set a -20Db pad at the input. I suspect your distortion is from the device output to the mixer input. It is VERY important that the mic does NOT "hear" the speakers as the feedback loop resulting will be mass distortion. The guitar should also not "hear" the mains.

What is the best setting EQ wise for a Sure beta 58A and a Sennheiser e835 mics? I have the HA120

Always start with flat setting. Be careful of boosting highs as feedback may be a problem Put the speakers forward so mics can't "hear" them.

I get little sound out of the microphone spots onm my DA-X10Pro. I have a karaoke THE SINGING MACHINE. When I use my karaokee machine mic plug in the mic works fine...but any voice into the mic...

The mics on the singing machine are very low end mics and MAY not work on your other unit. The Voco has very sensitvie inputs to use with "professional" type microphones. The Singing machine mics are going to be fairly high output and likely to overload the voco inputs. Procure some professional mics like Shure, AKG, Sennheiser or others and don't forget to use a balanced to unbalanced adapter or cable on the mics.

When i plug the microphone into my amplifier it works fine... but when i plug it into my computer using a 1/4" to 1/8" converter it has no sound on audacity ..im running vista on a 2008 hp laptop...

The 1/8" input is expecting "line level" for the audio. The mic generates "mic level" which is much lower. In order for this to work as you'd like, you need to have a mic preamp in the system. The typical way to do this is to use the output from a mixer rather than from the mic directly.

Need replacement cage (around windscreen) for sennheiser e835

local music store probably carries aftermarket mic grilles and most microphones anymore have standard threads.

or you can go to online music equipment sources and search for microphone grille and look for one that would fit.
