My computer wont play the sound when im trying to listen to music or play a movie.i would like to know how to get the sound back on

Have u recently installed a new DVD Drive?

If so and even if so, you need to have an audio cable installed connecting the DVD drive to the Sound Card in order to get sound when playing a MUSIC CD or DVD player from that drive. So double check that inside of the PC.

Next, go into the Audio Settings in the Control Panel and make sure sound is not muted.

Im trying to play my iphone music on my home theatre system with ipod dock and my phone just says accessory connected. how do i make it play?

First, if iPod (from your iPhone) doesn't play automatically, you should open it and play the song you wanna hear.

After that, make sure you selected the "Dock" from your home theatre system to make sure that it'll be producing the sound coming from your dock and not from your TV or blu-ray/DVD player or gaming consoles.

And finally, make sure the volume is loud enough for you to hear your songs.

Insignia pd-1020

Go to Radio Shack.  You're going to need an IPod dock that has video playback capability, an av cable with the three av outputs.  Then you will need a mini jack cable that plugs into the video and another mini jack stereo cable for the sound.  You made need a coupler as well.
They only make home cables for Ipod systems.  The other wires will convert the home cables for portable DVD use.

PHILLIPS HTD 7001 IPOD DOCKING STATION

I also have the same problem but now I think it's the type of I-Pod you use. Do you use the I-Pod 80 Gb video or the newer 160 Gb I-Pod with the cover flow etc. ? The documention of the HTD7001 says it's only support some I-Pods. I would know sure if I would have a type of Video I Pod wich is supported by the documentation

Ipod software problem - Appel 160gb Classic

I think you need the third party software to help play the dvd on ipod. Convert the dvd to ipod format first and then try to play the dvd on ipod.
