My hotspot software is always displaying error in soft ap

may in service pack 2 there is no LAN but you have to reinstall to he your original service pack that you to contact dell and one more thing for you have to install drivers of connection or internet because your service pack2 has not installed drivers

Laptop connection issue


try plugging it in and then reboot the router and/or laptop. it needs to set itself up with a local ip address.
Does your modem have more than 1 ethernet port? if not you might need a router.

Vista is tricky when adding networked printers.  
Add printer by using a local device, not a networked device.  Assume the printer is connected locally to the machine.

There is no availabe network driver for this Latitude d600 found on the dell support website that will work for vista. Most probably this computer is not configured to work with vista.

Call Dell Technical support for answers.

Local internet connection on dell laptop


i assume you are connected using wired or ethernet connection on a modem or with a router...? try to release or renew your IPs also what's the OS of this laptop? if it's on windows, run ipconfig from the command prompt, if you got an IP starting with 169.xxxx....
release and renew it. if it's a Mac, trash tcp/ip.

Connecting to the printer via a local network


Check network settings, you can browse the network. If you have an static ip let me know.
