Can't install battery

I just bought a Sylvania SY-037W optical mouse and can't figure out how to get the batteries in it. I've taken out the little screw in the bottom but can't open or slide anything. Thanks!

I can't get anything to slide. The screw is on the bottom of the scroll wheel end. Even if you take the screw completely out, the bottom won't come off nor will the silver "U" shaped piece on either side. It supposedly takes three "AAA" batteries which makes me thing a large area has to be exposed but I can't figure out how to do it.

DID YOU GET AN ANSWER ON HOW TO INSTALL OR OPEN THE SY-037W MINI OPTICAL MOUSE? I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO OPEN IT EITHER

Thanks. The silver u-shaped piece right below where "Sylvania" is printed is what slides off. Press down on the word in the black part and push the edge of the silver part away from the mouse. It's really hard the first time but it does come off.

Looking at the pictures of the mouse, it looks like the silver side/back piece slides back to reveal the battery compartment.

OK, then it may be the spot right behind the scroll wheel on top gets pressed down then slides back like the top of the Logitech version does. It's a pain, but it comes off (on the Logitech version)

My SYLVANIA mouse model # SY-040R is not working. It worked for about a month and then stopped working. It is a usb retractable optical mouse. Please Help!

optical mice suffer issues like anything else, just because it has no moving parts, doesn't mean it's never going to quit.Try the obvious, move the mouse to another port on this machine or another machine, to confirm the malfunction, after this I would encourage you to take your newly confirmed mistake back to the retailer, as it is only 30 days old.

Does anyone know where the battery goes for the sylvania wireless mouse sy 037r??

The silver section next to the word Sylvania slides off. There is a release under the black curved under the word Sylvania. I used a flat head screw driver to gently slip between the silver plastic and black rubberized section and gently pressed down. It pops out. The small hole where the usb connector fits stays with the mouse and a small silver section slides off. For some reason I got it off once, and then it took a long time to find the release a second time. Good luck

Do I need an AAA battery to make it working?

The batteries go into the back just press the word sylvania while sliding the silver backing/sides away, but not too hard or far or you'll break the plastic tabs. Good luck

I just bought a SY-037W Cordless Mini Travel Optical Mouse. How do you get the batteries into it as there were no instructions.

I know how to do that, you will press on the SYLVANIA gray letters on the upper black part of the mouse this will realease the batteries cover and pull out the cover and voila you where the batteries place

How to replace batteries

Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud

Battery compartment for wireless mini optical mouse

This sounds like the mouse I just bought. If you look closely at the mouse, you'll notice a small gap that sort of divides the top of the mouse from the bottom. Hold the mouse as if you are going to use it then slide your fingers down past that gap. Gently push down and pull at the same time and the battery compartment is just underneath. Of course, when you drop it a couple of times, the battery compartment opens and the batteries roll out, lost forever :)

Microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse 1024`

I have a Microsoft wireless optical mouse 3000. There is a silver button on the end of the mouse that usually faces you when using the mouse. Press that silver button- while holding the button in, use your fingernail or something to help with gently lifting the main panel on the top part of the mouse. Lift up on the end of the panel that is closest to the silver button. The panel comes entirely off, revealing the inset battery. It took me a while to figure it out since I installed the first battery.. it has lasted over a year. Hope this helps with yours. Have a blessed day!
