Insert card Our PPF-531 fax machine always register an "insert card" notice on its screen. Is there any possible way to disable this notice because we cannot transmit and receive fax when this warning appears. Do we have to buy a card for its card slot or is there a way to disable this "warning" for us to continue using its fax services..? We are really looking forward to your help.

At last I have discovered a way to disable this "insert card" problem of this fax machine.. It's on the service function of the machine

LOL! It took me a couple of days to solve this intriguing problem of PPF531. It's funny that I answer my own question. For the benefit of others, the solution to this kind of problem is in the Service Function of the machine. It's function number 97.

Try this little trick that I have discovered. Press START for 4 seconds, then you will hear 2 beeping sound. Then alternately press START and STOP 4 times. You will see a cursor like display on the right side of the LCD. Press MENU or FUNCTION then input 97. Look for "CARD TEST" then press OK then press STOP. Unplug the device then plug it again. A new icon will appear on the display.

Pls let me know if this trick worked.

Guys for thoses of you that have other types of this machine , As i have it,s not the same type as agustin which i want to thank for sending this post as it has help me, But as my philps magic series 5 primo is a different modal i had an old bank card in my wallet or if you have anything with that type of chip on it, then cut the card to the right size and shape to fix your machine (BUT DO IT BIT BY BIT) Till it,s the correct size and shape and just insert it into the machine and close the lid, As i have just done and to my amazment it (WORKED) !!!!!!!!!!!!! and now it,s back to normal and fully working, If you need an image of my card shape and size just email me and ill send you an scanned image of it for you to work with.

funny ! augustin's tip is very useful!

on a "PHILIPS magic 3 basic" with PFA331 plug'n'print chip card, do this:

press START 4 sec. until the beep. press MENU then type 94 and scroll to TEST CARD.
set it to zero. open case. remove the plug-n-print card.
I now was able ti reuse the spent inkfilm, (scrolled back onto further reel) with no chipcard in place. excellent ! the inkfilm-meter will show NEW INKFILM! very nice hint by augustin. what are the other MENU 97 good for, you think? there are 6 more setting to tamper with but I don't want to screw it up. many Philips faxes have this "secret menu" for hacking !

sorry, it is MENU 97 . MENU 94 is wrong (typo).

what Andy8 is writing sounds very surprising. probably many fax machines have hidden service menus to disable error messages like those by plug-n-print card unit.
