S-video output not working

I'm trying to connect to my TV using the s-video output on the aspire 1690 but its not working, pressing + should switch the screen to the TV shouldn't it? Tried different cables, nothing seems to be helping, my PS2 connects to the same TV no problem. Any ideas?

I think your problem is because the monitor is not activated. Right click desktop, click properties, click settings. Drag the gray scaled monitor on top of the black monitor and click ok and it should send the signal to the external monitor. try draging the mouse over to it because by default the external screen will be black.

Hope this helps!

How do I connect the Acer netbook to the TV?

The only option is using the VGA port on the Aspire One to hook it up to the TV.

Your TV must have a VGA in port for your to be able to hook your computer to your TV. All you need is a regular VGA cord.

How do I connect my acer aspire 5050 to TV?

Since the Acer Aspire One D250 only has VGA output for its video, you will need a VGA cable to connect between the D250 and a TV that accepts VGA input as a video source. The sound is separate. A mini-stereo jack on an audio cable with two RCA phono plugs on the other end would be used to connect the D250 audio output (usually used for headphones) to the left and right audio inputs on the TV. You may need to use the TV setup screens to select the proper video and audio sources. With the TV on and proper video source selected, you now should be able to press Fn and F5 to get a menu in the middle of the D250's screen that allows you to select the video destination by holding down Fn key and pressing the F5 key repeatedly. The single large screen icon (3rd one from the left) is the one to select video output to VGA port only which would send it to your TV. The sound on the D250 does not need to be selected but you may wish to adjust its level and/or properties to be more suitable for TV.

Hi Henley,

Try holding down the blue fn key, and press and release f5. This key combination changes video output modes on Acer laptops. Also, bring your video resolution down to it's minimal settings and try again. Reply if you still have any issues and I can help further.

Connecting laptop to hd tv

IMake sure that you have the laptop for an VGA OUTPUT. When you toggle between the function keys. When your laptop LCD goes out it is in VGA OUT mode....when you toggle again it should be in LCD/VGA OUT (both TV and laptop should display). You need to set the TV to VGA mode as well...otherwise you might not get an output. If you still have a problem then test on a regular monitor to see if you are getting an output to the monitor

IF THIS HELPS PLEASE VOTE.....GOOD LUCK AND THANKS..

S video output

1. Connect the S Video cable from the out on your laptop to the in on your tv.
2. Press the key combination on your laptop that switches the output from the screen to the external device. This varies per laptop but there should be a picture of a screen in blue above one of the number keys. You press the function (FN) key on your laptop and that button with the screen on it (usually 5) and that will redirect the output. Make sure your tv is set on the input of the s video so you can see it.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

what sort of wireless card does that carry. Sometimes it's easier to get the right drivers from that website, instead of through the OEM computer folks.
