Re: problem with t.v.
What is the exact model # of the set and i can assist you more. Is it a WS55807? Let me know and we can continue after that.
You definately need a HDTV Box from cable or i recommend the Dish Network for the $$. You can run 2 TV'S independantly off one receiver and watch 2 different things at once or record 2 things at the same time. They work great. But cable has its advantages also like ON DEMAND. It a good feature also. Let me know if this helps out. Thanks Jay

Look for a big heat sink (big piece of aluminum) right behind the back access panel. The brown pressboard that you need to take of to have access to the inside of the chassis. I think there is two STK chips for this tv. Older mits only had one. The STK chip is black, should be about 3" long with about 20 pins on it. It may have a metal clip covering the part number on the front.
If this is a WS-55511, it is probably caused by a DM module. Unfortunately, it is not available nor does Mitsubishi offer a rebuild option. Mitsubishi's phone# 1-800-332-2119.
Give them a call and you never know what they may offer you.
Hope this helps,
Washed out looking video with signal. Access the service menu, "menu 0357" use the audio button to select "video chroma" adjustments, use the video button to select item "40 - AGIW", use the adjust button to change the setting to 0, then press the enter button to store the change.
Good Luck, big IRISH. PS: don't change any other setting!!
