of the biggest causes of the blinking red light problem is placing the console
with the fan vents sitting against the floor or up against a wall where air
cannot flow freely in and out of the console.and to fix PS3 red light blinking is to unplug the console from the wall for
about half an hour and then plug it back in. This doesn't always work, but some
people have had success with problems other than overheating...
The exact cause of the RSOD (Red Screen Of Death) is not exactly known. Sony acknowledges it is a problem, and will repair or exchange your PS3 unit. Whether or not it will cost you anything depends on if your PS3 is still under warranty.
Sorry there's not an immediate solution to your problem.
your ps3 could be in the process of breaking i got the ylod just last night your warranty has expired you could just run your ps3 untill it breaks then open it up and try to repair it but thats a tricky thing to do. and dont leave games in it incase it breaks they will be trapped inside, my modern warfare 2 is stuck in mine -.-
The yellow light is also know as the yellow light of death casued by a hardware failure. It can be casued ny over heating a bluray drive failure, a hard drive failure or even a powersupply failure. You know you have it when you power up the yellow light flashes then you hear some beeps then the red llight flashes. I would suggest returning it if you have that option or getting it fixed somewhere else as a last option.
