Protect light on bass box on s101

internal overload protection

From the Manual:
PROTECT indicator
This indicator lights red when the system
cable is not properly connected or the
protection circuit in the subwoofer (DSW-
S101) is activated

the red light is for power in protect mode it should be orange and it will not emmit sound if you think you should have better sounding bass or more bass you can try to play with the gains on the amp or possibly if you have the negative or positive hooked up wrong from a speaker to the amp this will cause the bass to be lower and somewhat distorted double check your positive and negative wires from the speaker to the amp and make sure they are correct

could be the speaker its hooked up to . try to disconnect the sub and see if the protect light goes out

Yeah it's probably not going to work because it's not even the same brand

i had the same thing happen to me on my 2300hct audiobahn. it turned out to be the remote. but soon after my amp went dead. i than switched to JL no problems since.

but i still use audiobahn immortal 12's.

How long will the bass play before the amp kicks into protection mode and how loud are you listening to it? I've noticed with my amps that if they don't have enough air flow they will get hot and kick into protection mode. They will also kick into protection mode if you are running it at more than it can handle. Check your adjustments on both your amp and the head unit. Make sure you are not running more bass than the amp can handle.

Does it go into protect if you disconnect the speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp?
