We've only owned our RCA TruFlat for a year and it's developed the problem of turning off by itself. At first it would turn on and off automatically, but now it just turns off about 15 minutes after being turned on. Is it worth trying to fix, or should I just start saving for a new TV?
Ours did that too after 2 years of faithful service. We got a quote for repairs equaling around $200 USD when the tv only cost a little over $100.
You can price-check to see how much repairs are for places, however, it was just best for us based on retail price paid to get a new one.

some tvs like the one i used to have did th same thing. turned out the remote eye on front of set needed cleaned. worked fine afterwards. also remote buttons are bad about getting stuck you might try cleaning it by taking it apart cleaning it with alcohol. hop this helps
I also have a Mitsubishi T.V. I had a similar problem.I was told to get cans of air and disconnect tv,and then clean dust and dirt from the inside of tv,the tv works fine now,this may help with your tv.

and first of all if u dont want ur tv to turn on by itself when you dont want it to just un plug the cord and when your going to use it just plug it back on.
