How do i get my th-a9r to play dvd-rw

You can't. The Laser will only Play +R & +RW.

Non-playable discs

• DVD-ROM • DVD-RAM • DVD-R • DVD-RW
• CD-R* • CD-ROM • PHOTO CD • CD-RW*

* Audio formatted CD-R and CD-RW can be played.

• Playing back discs list as "Non-playable discs" above may
generate noise and damage speakers.

CD not playable

call bose for repair on this unit. The laser could be dirty but in most cases there is another failure. Possibly in the motor control circuit. They have a flat rate repair service.

CD not playable

Hello

It sounds to me like the laser lens itself may be damaged or even broken.

Here is something you can try though, this might just work if the laser lens has some dust particles stuck to it. Just go to your nearest cd shop and buy yourself a laser lens cleaner disc, it is cheap.

Follow the instructions, and if the laser lens itself was dirty, this will help, otherwise the laser lens might be broken, which is a ver common problem, cause you used it for three years now.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards
Andrea

CD player says CD (and I've tried a few) is not playable

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.

Non-playable disc

the unit needs to be repaired. i have the same unit. the laser(s) are only good for so many hours of use. pioneer usa can fix that for about $200.00 NOT INCLUDING SHPPING AND HANDLING. and that solved my problem. if the monitor in/out motor hasn't stopped working yet, that will come as well. they have gears that become loose and need to be replaced with new ones that i lucked out and was still under warranty for. (NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING AND HANDLING).

Sounds like its time to take the cover off (after unplugging the unit of course). Sorry to hear you are having a problem. Good luck.
