Whenever I try to enter the address boon, my screen flashes white, then the screen goes black for about 30 seconds, and then the screen comes back up and it's searching for service.
It started yesterday when I was opening 1 entry and doing that caused the above to happen.
I tried to delete the entry and it would happen again, so I changed the name to A figuring I could change it later...
but now everytime I try and open the address book, I get the above failure.
I reset the fone settings, did nothing but lose my settings...

When it say the list can not be used, it means the hard drive/disk thet keeps your addresses have failed. The fast way would be to format the hard drive/disk and re-program your info. This commonly happens when the hard drive/disk is active during a power surge/failure or incorrect shut down. Go to service mode by pressing yellow button then 107 then hold the red/stop button for more than 5 seconds, when the screen changes press the first option on the screen(should be copy or system), now press 5832 (HD format) and enter/execute, when "completed" is displayed switch off and on. Now open your internet browser on PC, take out the web address and input your printer IP and press enter, username-admin, no password, on the left of the screen click on address book, now go to add, input all you info and press ok, now log out on the top right of the screen and test scanner.
Click Start/Programs and look for the run command or the cmd prompt (black scree with white lettering). The run command might be under the Accessories folder. When the run command opens up type: cmd and press OK. The command prompt (black screen with white lettering) window will open up then type: ipconfig /all Press ENTER. The MAC Address and IP Addresses will be shown. The MAC Address is the Physical Address for the device.
If you are directly wired to your modem (not router), you will have to reboot your modem each time you switch between computer and console. When the modem boots up, it leases an IP address to the MAC Address of the connected device. Each device has a unique MAC Address. If the MAC Address does not match to the one it leased an IP to, it won't allow access to the internet.
You can get past this by "cloning" the MAC Address of your computer to your console.
To get the MAC Address (Physical Address) of your computer: XP: Open the start menu, click "run" and type "cmd" then hit enter. A black screen with white writing should have opened. Type in "inconfig/all" and hit enter. Look for the line that says "physical address". That is your MAC Address.
Vista: Open the start menu, in the search bar type in "cmd" and hit enter. A black screen with white writing should have opened. Type in
"inconfig/all" and hit enter. Look for the line that says "physical
address". That is your MAC Address.
Now get into the network configurations on your console, look for an option of MAC Address cloning. Input the MAC Address of your computer, save and reboot.
You can manually enter addresses by going to Machine Status> Tools. Add Address Book Entry and entering single entries there. Youcan also upload a .csv by browsing into the copier via the IP and going to Proprties> Services> Internet Messaging> E-mail> Public Address Book and Mapping the existing address book to your computer. It will be in a Comma Seperated Value format that can be Modified in Excel and reuploaded in the same area, but instead of mapping existing address book, Upload .CSV file to Address Book and exiting.
Select the Address Book application from the main screen (with all the icons.) The address book icon is black and white in the default theme. Press the "Menu" button (just left of the trackball) Scroll up or down to "New Address" and push the trackball in (select the menu item.) Fill in all the details that you have for the contact. Press the "Menu" button again (left of the trackball) Scroll up or down to "Save" and select it by pushing the trackball in.
that is wierd - you can try the first solution to have it flashed, but 30% that's the answer, somehow your lcd probably burnt out so a simple replacement is required - it would cost about $30-40 for the lcd and the installation
