From Retiredroger, I think, not sure, another web site got closer, by naming the Cap as C2, and,as a 1000uF cap, found same in a likely loc., did solve the problem. Thanks for the suprising reply, Ill be back someday to cruise the site.

I would start at the power supply section , just locate where the ac cord plug to, and that will take you to the power supply area,
please stick with the same values if you can , but never go below the voltage rating on that capacitor, you wil have a pleasent surprise if you dont.

On my hp 6520, the text on the Print Quality Diagnostic report is flawless yet the black ink box on the report is blank. Makes no sense! Saved documents and scans come out blank, any ideas?

if its not an original oem cartridge ink level wont show. clean cartridge head with isopropyl alcohol. blow through top hole to force ink through could be blocked as ink dries on contacts

Monitor screen goes blank after few seconds, turn power off and back on, works for a few seconds and goes blank again. Any suggestions? connections are tight

It can be due to bad poweer supply caused by bad DC filter caps, bad backlights inverter circuits, bad lamps assembly. It will require in-depth trobleshooting.

Picture comes on the goes blank, reset power does the same condition pix for 2 seconds then goes blank. - power supply keeps proper voltage - top inverter transformer was squeeling the repklaced board - no...

You can still have bad backlights lamps, that is why the transformer is squealing due to poor connection on the wire at the lamp connection, the output of the inverter voltage will try to go up to keep the lamp firing and draws too much current and cause the inverter circuits to shutdown. The inverter has two detection circuits: over current and open lamp sensing (it will sense if the lamp will fire up and stay on).
Look for burnt/harden wires on the lamp assemblies.

Monitor is blank. comes on momentarily when i reboot but goes back blank

The problem can be the backlight inverter circuits, bad caps in the power supply, or bad lamps. I would inspect the caps first, look for caps with bulging tops, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Optiquest q20wb Screen goes blank after powering on

I'd like to report a success story. I had this same problem with my Q20WB. It sat for over a year in my garage. I eventually bought replacement capacitors, soldered them in, and now it works. You can find kits with the right capacitors preselected, or if you feel like it you can also buy them individually.

good luck
