Question about Crate Music
This amp has a 60 cycle hum and lost some of its low end frequency

Power supply capacitors failed. This is a common problem with 1990's crates, also the power on "POP".

SOURCE: amps broken need to fix it
Their may be a schematic on the inside of the amp.I don't remember if Crate puts one or not. And I have had several Crate amps. never needed repair except for tube replacement. Hi there. Sounds like the distortion foot switch is stuck. Try a shot of WD-40 where the button goes into the switch and then click it on and off a bunch of times.

Witth an oscilloscope analyze the ripple voltage across C67, C70, C14, and C12. Pay close attention to the last two of these which are on +/- 15 volt lines.
The "chirp" when shutting down is LIKELY normal and would probably be from teh DSP effects unit as it goes down. The voltages go out of the operating range and the device essentially goes nuts for a second or so.
