Here is an easy trick to see if a remote is working. Hold the remote up to a digital camera or camcorder. Then just press the buttons on the remote and look in the lcd screen of the camera. If the remote is working you will see the LED on the front of the remote flashing through the LCD screen of the camera. If you do see it blinking on the camera then you know it works. If it works then you either have the wrong remote for that model, or the reciever inside the dvd player may be faulty. You can also pick up a universal remote for under $10 at most stores that sells electronics. Peter

Visio remote sensor does not respond

Hello
You may not have set the remot to TV with its set up code. If you have did it, and still there is no response by the TV to remote control, the remote sensor inside the tV is faulty. This is a three terminal component, can be located behind the remote sensor window at it front panel. you have to open the TV to access this component. Will look brownish black in color, and can be easly replaced. The component can be bought from most of the elctronic spare part selling shops at your town. The images of some types are given here.

I have bought some remotecontrols for my lifestyle

Hi I have also bought replacement remotes in USA and have since found that they work on a different frequency. European spec is 40mhz and US spec is 27mhz. As I have nothing to loose with the remote I have taken it apart and I am at present waiting for a 40mhz crystal to see if I can get it working. The crystal you need is 40.685mhz to be exact. This information is written in the back of the owners guide for the remote. Hope this helps Peter

Universa remote codes.

Spoke with Starlight Marketing Ltd today who represent Disney. They said there is no codes for the Disney TV's. They have been trying to find out what the code is but since it is a private brand tv it does not have a code for a different remote. As I stated we bought the Pirates of the Carribean TV/DVD. My husband was fooling around with the remote and punched in 0216 and the remote read the code. The person from Disney said we just got lucky. Said that there were no universal remotes that would work with these TV's. This code was also used by the Haier brand tv. Hope this info helps anyone with a Disney TV.
