Can't load ink cartridges for PIXMA MP780 printer

1. Remove the front printer cover.
2. Then take out the ink.
3. Next pull up the gray lever and take out the printer head.
4. Now go to the sink and start running the hot water. Then slowly and gently run the hot water over the metal part of the printer head. Use a soft tissue and gently clean the dry ink out.
5. Now dry the printer header with a soft cloth and wait for it to dry before placing it back into the printer.
6. Turn on your printer and see if it works now.

Your Canon MP780 will have the ink levels displayed on the screen.


Also, while printing on the Canon printers you would usually get a window on the screen showing you the level of ink in the printer.

Its the Printead thats faulty!

Turn off the printer, and unplug the power cord. Remove the cartridges, then the printhead unit, clean the printhead in look warm water GENTLY. Dry completely, clean the contacts with an eraser GENTLY. wipe contacts with tissue, then re-install back into the printer, add the cartridges, so an alignment and a clean, then print.

You get that message when the printhead goes bad. It's not the ink cartridges. You need a new printhead

Try to reset to factory .
Remove ink cartridges and print head.
Power off machine and unplug for 10-15 minutes.
Restart machine and install head and cartridges.

The speed of the printer could have a lot to do with the settings for photo quality. If you've cleaned it out completely and the settings for your quality still make no difference in the speed, you've damaged hardware that will have to be replaced... replacing the entire printer is usually the best option at that point.
