Check the rubber seal inside/around the door. I bet you have a tear or piece of seal that isn't making a solid fit and it's allowing (warm) room air into you freezer. This moist room air will either turn to water droplets and builds up to enough droplets to form puddles in the bottom of the freezer, or it freezes into a blob of ice around the door seal and this allows warm room air into the freezer. Otherwise you need an Appliance Tech to check the Freon refrigerant level. Most times its the door seal causing this problem.

Ice forming in freezer

Make sure there is not too much product in the freezer...need room for air to circulate properly. Also check to see if there is a fan that transfers the cold air to the refrigerator...make sure it works correctly. Put a thermometer in the refrigerator & freezer...monitor temperatures.

I have a woods chest style deep freeze and the lid is very cold on the outside, but the sides are room temperature and the freezer works fine. Why is the lid cold and how can I fix it

Yes, the freezer temperature means the lid gets very cold. Every time you open it some moisture condenses in the lid and the outside ambient also affects it. The insulation may be beginning to break down and the ice is forming inside. It is not a major problem however and many freezers go on for years with freezing lids!

I have ice above the ice drop inside the freezer daily I have moved things around thinking maybe air was not circulating but nothing has worked

frost forming is caused by excess room air getting into the freezer because of leaky door gasket which should seal snugly on a dollar bill inserted between the gasket. Frequent or prolonged door opening will also allow room air in. The ice chute door may not be closing tightly. The higher moisture content in the air freezes on the surfaces of the food etc.

Ice if forming along top gasket area and side of freezer where

If we have ice on the inside of the freezer it means air is being pulled into the box somewhere. The most likely place is the door seal, it sounds like you already checked it, but I would suggest that you look very close at the bottom and aides of the seal too, it could be leaking in air from there. Check the inside liner for cracks and seal them if you find any. Look at the corners of the cabinet to make sure there is not room for air to come in.

Air leaks will lead to frost, it is just hard sometimes to find where it is leaking in.

Ice forms around fan and makes a loud humming noise

It's probablly caused by air leakage through the ice room fan electrical connection inside the freezer. Behind the back wall inside the freezer, the icd fan is the fan that blows air up to the in-door icemaker. The plug on that, into a molded plug on the back of the feezer compartment, is a red plastic part with three wires in it. Try filling in around the wires and the red plastic with a bit of silicone. (if you replace the ice room fan, the new plug comes with a rubber filler which seals this spot). (PS. Next time, avoid Sears)
