A CD has become stuck in the CD slot and I cannot get any pieces of it free.What can I do????
The CD is a bit more than halfway into the CD slot and is stuck there. PLEASE - can you help?? I have tried several times to turn it on, but it still does not move.

try taking a small piece of wire and bending a small hook into one end slide it in on TOP of the stuck disc and hooking the center hole of the disc, (you don't want to get the wire under the disc because you could damage the disc reading hardware) also once you have the disk hooked you may have to use the tweezers to gently hold the front of the disc up to align with the slot as your pulling it out. you should feel a little resistance but don't try to force the disc out too hard.
Heres the method I have been using since CD's came out...
Gently slide another CD into the slot, keep hold of it! dont let it slide all the way in.
Once its about halfway in, GENTLY push down on it as you pul it back out.
The stuck CD should come sliding right out with it.
Is there something inside the Player preventing it from not "Ejecting"?
If there was a Mechanical Failure inside the CD Player then you are going to have to remove the Player, and mechanically disassemble the Player to (1) Remove the CD, (2) Repair the Player for future use...
There is no need to open up the console! Get someone to hold the PS3
upside down (so the disc slot is facing down) then get 2 butter knives
insert them carefully one on the left and one on the right of the disc
slot. Now gently push the knives away from each other so that the one on
left goes left and the one on the right goes right. You will feel them
push the brackets that hold the disc in. As you push the brackets you
will release the mechanism that holds the disc in and it should just
drop out. I did this with mine when my little boy decided to put a
credit like card in it!

hello of course you can do it only you need a bit of precaution check this in magazine look for broken/deformed little piece of plastic especially in 2nd slot if it is ok next step look inside check again in the room where you put the magazine and it has a small coils check the 2nd i hope yu find the solution my best luck.........saludos
hi, you can release the magazine by inserting a small flat head screwdriver in the slot and pushing the lever towards the back of the unit, this will release the cd but only if ther is not one stuck in the player as it will remain halfway between the mag and the cdplayer. don't force it to comae out. remember to obviously have the dorr to the player open before you try this.
