  • cjlmheineke Nov 27, 2008

My printer is doing the same thing. It's small enough that when you take the little door off from the back, you can clearly see that there is no paper. The weird thing about all this is that it doesn't say printer jam on the printer, it says printer jam when you check to see what's in que by doulbe clicking the little printer icon at the bottom of my screen. Please help!!!

A single sheet of paper has jamed, can not release it.

Clearing a paper jam

If the paper jams in the printer, follow the steps below to clear the jam:

Remove the paper stack from both paper trays.

Press the POWER button. Instead of turning off, the printer will try to eject the jammed sheet.

If the printer cannot eject the paper, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

NOTE: Do not press the POWER button again before unplugging the power cord.

Open the rear access door at the back of the printer. To do this, press the handle to the right and then pull out the door.

Remove the jammed paper. Make sure no small pieces or obstructions remain.

Reattach the rear access door and plug the power cord back into the printer.

The printer will turn on automatically and be ready for printing again.

Reload the paper in the IN tray.

Try printing again.

My Kodak ESP5 keeps saying "Paper Jam please remove paper jam" But there is no paper in it?

My esp 5 gave me this same message. I'm not an expert but here is what worked for me.

I turned off and disconnected both cables (usb and power) then reconnected and turned on.
At this point it still read paper jam, so I took ink cartridges out and paper out.
I then reinstalled ink cartridges and PULLED OUT THE PAPER TRAY to it's FULL capacity, added about 5 sheets of paper, and on the main menu I chose the allignment function and printed a test page and suddenly....no jam!
Hope this works for someone. For some reason pulling the tray all the way out cleared the "jam" message for me. Now if I could just get the new ink cart to work I'd be all set! Good Luck!

It says the paper is jammed, but there's no paper in it!!

This is an awesome printer. Did you know it can duplex (print on both sides of the paper) automatically? The jam "could" be in the duplexer on the back or, the duplexer unit isn't locked into place.

Unplug the printer and open the rear door, check for visible paper jam, remove, close door.

There's also access to the feed mechanism from the bottom of the printer.

Unplug printer.

(1) Remove the Cassette. (paper tray on bottom of printer)

If the paper is loaded in the Auto Sheet Feeder (on back of printer), remove the paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder and close the Paper Support.
(2) Stand the machine with the left side down.
(3) Slowly pull the jammed paper out while pulling the green cover toward you.

Caution
Set the machine back to its original position immediately after removing the jammed paper.
(4) If any paper is sticking out of the Cassette, reload the paper in the Cassette.
Reload paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder, if necessary.
(5) Insert the Cassette into the machine.
(6) Press the OK button on the machine.

Lexmark P6250 paper Jam

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. Canon MP160
My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Someone replied to my problem, i tried it and it fixed 1st time. Also seems to of worked for others

Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving push it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now

Paper jam light is on

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!

Printing

Placing one sheet at atime is worse usually as these units feed off a minimum level. Keep them topped up to at least no less than 10 sheets. The printers sound like the have a paper feeding issue. Could be a jam. Open unit, check for paper jam. Cheers lilacgerry xxx
