There is typically four slots & four matching L shaped pegs on the base. On the bottom of the base there will be an arrow with or without text showing which way is Front. Match the pegs & the slots & push till you hear a click, which means the base is locked to the TV. If it doesn't swivel right, look for the thumb tab on the bottom of the base & push it to release the base, turn it 180? and repeat the steps above to lock the base back into position. -DellTech1

How do I remove the base from the TV so it can be wall mounted without leaving the stand attachment attached to the TV

depends on what TV you have. Most TV models i've dealt with, you need to remove the whole back of the TV and take the base out. Some smaller LCD monitor bases like Dells are attached only by a latch. Some bases are held together by 4 screws where the VESA mount would go.

TV tilts forward on base about 15 degrees, TV will pivot left or right but won't remain perpendicular or upright.

The only things I could think of causing this would be either the hardware not tightened up properly or defective base (stand.) Make sure all the screws are tightened securely in the bottom of the base and in the back of the tv where the base attaches. Someone may have used the wrong screw holes to attach the base but there really should only be 4 holes to use to screw the base to the tv. This may need returend to the retailer for an exchance of the base.
  1. Oh, the last thing to check is that someone did not put the base on in reverse. Most have a small alightment tab that makes sure the front of the base goes to the front of the tv and if it is put on backwards the tv would tilt forward a few degrees.

We had this same problem. We attached the base and it was lined up sideways- but after we attached the screws we were able to turn the TV the right way. I don't know why APEX didn't just suggest that to you. I assume the TV's are made to swivel them from side to side if you want.

I hope that helps!

Hi there, if you are trying to just remove the base, then on your model there is one screw in the center of the underside of the base. If you want to remove the neck of the base to then remove the 8 screws on the back of the tvs neck too. I hoped this helped, please rate thank you!

I need to remove the base from my 42 inch plasma TV to mount it onto a TV stand. How do you remove the base?

Good Day;
The base is attached by four, inset, allen screws on the back of the unit, bottom. The 'key' word is INSET (recessed).
