Light and carousel run but no power(food does not heat up). The oven does not stop unless the door is opened. When the door is closed the light and carousel start again. The clock does not count down nor keep time. The clock remains at whatever time is entered after plugging in. The stop/clear button does not stop/clear. Unpugging does not change the situation. Mfg Sept 04.

Hello, I had the same problem, and just fixed mine. Start by turning on your microwave (on mine, the light turned on and timer worked, but the fan nor the plate turned)... push the door upward and see if the microwave turns on... (mine did). so far so good. open the door and take the upper hinge cap off with flat head screwdrive. take the door off and place a small washer on the bottom hinge, put the door back on. your microwave should be good now. essentially, the door just needs to be pushed up a bit so it will work.
good luck, hope that works for you...
Hello, This sounds like a bad magnetron that would have to be replaced. There is up to 2000 volts stored in a microwave, even when unplugged. For saftey reasons I would strongly suggest you have a qualified technician check it out. Hope this helps.
I also have the Sharp Carosoul oven, symptoms - fan runs, controls are fine but the turntable stopped turning and it did not heat. It was not the switches, fuse, but in fact a sagging door that misaligned with the door switches. The true cause was a warn top hinge. As a temporary fix, I adjusted the bottom hinge (3 screws underneath), straightened the door, and now it works again.
