Mobile units are probably connected to the cell data network. Is the router connecting to a broadband modem? If so, unplug the router and plug your laptop into the modem. If your laptop doesn't have a RJ45 connector find a computer that does and plug it into the modem. If you still can't access the internet the modem is probably bad.

How to resolve "Limited Or No Connectivity Errors" in Windows

When attempting to set up or make network connections on a Windows computer, you may encounter a Limited Or No Connectivity error message similar to the following:
Limited or no connectivity: The connection has limited or no connectivity. You might be unable to access the Internet or some network resources.

This message can result from any of several different technical glitches or configuration problems. Follow these steps to resolve Limited Or No Connectivity errors in Windows.
1. Determine whether your network access is functioning properly (that you can reach local network resources and the Internet). If you are using a broadband Internet and Windows XP Service Pack 2, this message is often a false error report. See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 892896 for details on how to work around this error appropriately.
2. If your network access is non-functional. continue to the following steps.
3. If your computer connects to the network through a broadband router , resetting (powering off and on) the router may resolve the issue. If not using a broadband router, or if resetting your router only temporarily resolves the issue and the error message re-appears later, continue to the following steps.
If connecting to your network using Wi-Fi and using wireless security, your WEP or other security key may not be set properly. Check the wireless security configuration on your computer's network adapter and update if it necessary.
4. If connecting to your network using an Ethernet cable, your cable may have failed. Temporarily replace your network cable with a new one to determine whether this resolves the issue.
5. If using a broadband router and DHCP on your network, check your computer's IP address to verify it is valid and not a private address that starts with 169.254. An invalid address of the form 169.254.x.x signifies your computer's inability to obtain a usable IP address from your router.
To resolve DHCP configuration problems, proceed to the following steps.
6. Reboot your computer, router (if present) and broadband modem together, then re-test your connection.
7. If your connection remains non-functional, run the Windows Network Repair utility on your computer.
8. If your connection remains non-functional, update your router settings to change from dynamic to static IP address configuration, and set an IP address on the computer appropriately.
9. If your connection remains non-functional, unplug your router and connect the computer directly to your broadband modem. If this configuration is functional, contact the manufacturer of your router for additional support.
10. If your computer is connecting to your network directly through a broadband modem, or if your Internet access remains non-functional after following the instructions above, contact your Internet provider for support.

Connecting to the internet

SETTING UP A INTERNET BROADBAND CONNECTION
First you need to decide what type of broadband and Internet service you require and these are -
1. DSL that uses your existing telephone line.
2. Cable that uses a cable service and can include a cable TV service.
3. A wireless 3G network uses the mobile/cell phone network and can be separate or combine with your cell phone account. This type of Internet connection uses an USB wireless device shaped like an USB memory stick.
Note - Combined services generally offer discount pricing and may include a modem/wireless router.

If you use a wireless router with the DSL or Cable Internet service then your laptop with a wireless card can then connect to the Internet. You can also connect to a free WiFi hot spots like McDonalds, Star Bucks, the Airport etc. using the wireless card in your laptop.
If you use the wireless 3G wireless broadband service, then you can access the Internet anywhere where your ISP has 3G wireless coverage. You need to check the service coverage area where you need Internet service.
Once you decide what type of broadband your require, then you need to check with the various Internet Service providers to see if they can offer and the cost of the various plans.
Note the download limits and the associated additional costs if you exceed the monthly download limits. Once you sign up with a Internet Service provider, their documentation will include setting up instructions and/or installation CD.

Wifi keeps disconnecting for no reason

While wireless Internet technology allows us greater mobility in the home and around town, you may also encounter issues with getting a good signal. This common problem has a variety of origins and also depends on your connection method.

Terminology
"Wireless Internet" can refer to two different things: a person using a laptop modem card to communicate over a cell phone network, or an environment where the computers are connecting wirelessly to a nearby high-speed modem. b> Laptop Broadband Networking The user with the laptop modem card can resolve the issue the same way a cell phone user does, since they are connecting to a cell phone network: Find a location where you can get stronger signal strength. b> Mobilizing for Signal Strength b> Terrain can block the laptop user from "seeing" a nearby cell tower, and buildings in an urban environment, like at a coffee shop or at an airport, can cause the same problem. In both cases, seeking higher ground or more a more open area can improve your signal. b> Home Wireless b> In the home, Wi-Fi access is at its strongest when there is not a wall or floor between you and your modem. Sometimes a microwave or cordless phone will also interfere with the signal. b> Drivers and Viruses b> Updating your drivers--packages of software that your computer uses to recognize its hardware--can solve performance glitches. You can also use an anti-virus program to scan for malicious programs that could be interfering. Hope this helps.

Wireless printing

Check the printer's manual if the software of this printer already supports winVista. If it is, you may connect the printer directly to the PC and check if you'll be able to print.

Hope this helps!
