Specks of dirt inside monitor

My NEC Multisync LCD 1560NX has a couple of irritating specs of dust or dirt behind its face plate. Is there anyway of getting inside to clean this? (I tried unscrewing the five bolts in the back, but was unable to lift it off the front. Seemed like something else was holding it.)

It's dirt, not dead pixels. I'll see if I can find the plastic clips. Thanks.

From the sounds of your problem, you have a few dead pixels. This is a problem that can exist in LCD displays that have not been quality tested or have been damaged in some other way. If the unit is still under warranty, I would see if it could be exchanged for another monitor. Short of replacing the LCD screen, you would only be left with the option of living with the aggravation. P.S. The main reason you couldn't get the monitor apart is due to the fact that there are plastic clips mated with indentations in the other half of the housing that must be released before it will seperate. They are about every 4 inches around the entire seam of the two halves. Hope this helps.

My NEC MultiSync LCD 1765 monitor boots up to the lowest resolution available. When I attempt to correct the resolution through the Display Options in my Control Panel Settings, I set it at the highest...

Try connecting the NEC to a different computer, to see if it correctly accepts 1280-by-1024.
If so, then there's nothing wrong with the monitor, and the fault lies with either the video-adapter in your computer, or something messed-up with your installed copy of Windows.
Try replacing the video-adapter.

NEC MultiSync LCD1765 won't power on

Look for bad caps with bulging top in the power supply first, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps (after about 2 years): http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Hi I just bought 7 NEC Multisync LCD1550v monitors and they all have the same problem. when plugged in all i get is a blinking power light. 1 of them showed signs of life for just a second but that was it....

You buy a new LCD Monitors, now still not working., if that new LCD Monitor is OK, then check your VGA Card, its inside the CPU maybe its broke or not connect properly inside. This are the cause of not displaying in your LCD Monitors.
If you here some beeps of your CPU then find out how many beeps and tell us here immediately.

Green light is flashing and screen won't come on

Try another monitor on that computer and see if it boots up with video. If you still get the same problem then that means there is something wrong with the computer. If you get video this time then that means there is something wrong with the original monitor.

On your original monitor, make sure there is no bent pins and that the cable is connected properly.

At least this way you will know whether its the computer or monitor.

If its the computer thats the problem that at least go ahead and try to take out the memory and CPU and put them back into there respective slots and blow some air onto them so its not a spec of dust or dirt that is affecting the video.

Mounting a NEC MultiSync LCD 1560

You need a VESA mounting plate. The VESA Standard defines mounting interfaces, hole patterns and associated cable/power supply locations for LCD/TFT monitors. The monitor you have has a 75mm x 75mm hole pattern as per the spec sheet below: http://www.nec-display-solutions.co.uk/coremedia/download/62980/LCD1560VM-Datasheet-english.pdf There are many types of bracket depending whether you want the panel flat on the wall or to be able to swivel it. You can see some example on the page below: http://www.rs100.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=30_55&products_id=580&osCsid=15qvrvji4vn4uk49pcidd38q83 You need to search your location for a supplier.
