I have uninstalled and re-installed driver from Brother site. Still won't print. It says the driver isn't installed. When I go to programs, it shows the Brother folder but says "Empty"
Open the printer and scanners folder an delete all the devices (Brother Printer, Brother Fax, Brother PC-Fax if installed). Point to device an right click the mouse button.
Restart the computer.
Download the software from Brother Solutions Center. Download the whole suite not just the drivers. Make sure you select the software that is compatible with your version of the OS :Windows 7 32 bits, Windows 7 64 bits, Windows 8 32 bits, etc.
Install the software. If you are going to use a USB cable to connect the MFC to the computer, install a local USB printer. If you are going to use Ethernet network cable, install a wired network printer, and if wireless connection then install a wireless printer.
If you have problems finding or attributing an IP address to your printer (for Non-USB connections) there is Brother program that helps you attribute an IP address. You will find it on the same page as the software suite on Brother's site.

The solution for this one's an easy fix. All you have to do is go to brother, click on Product Support, select your country or the nearest one to you, then where it says please enter your model name type in mfc-240c and hit enter. Click where it says MFC-240C and then go to downloads, select drivers, then your operating system, and then your language, and finally, click search. It will bring you to the page with teh drivers for your printer. In the downloads area, you can also download the manuals, the software for your printer, etc.. It's all quite well laid out. Let me know if you run into any problems.

Ok I know how to fix this issue, this involves going into the registry editor, also only available in windows XP, so be careful!
Click START -> RUN and type in REGEDIT
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> BROTHER -> CONTROLCENTER -> (version number) -> (model number) -> DEVICEINFO
Look in the right hand window for ENABLEWIA, if the value is set to 0, set it to 1.
Reboot your computer, should be fixed!
