It sounds as if the printhead needs cleaning. There should be an option on your printer for doing this. You may need to run this a number of times. If that fails to work, then its possible that ink has clogged the jets. Time to replace it.

Most printers have 4 inks: Magenta, Cyan, Yellow, and Black. Red requires the printer to print both Yellow and Magenta. If your Magenta isn't printing, red will show up yellow. When you say, "I am not out of ink", you may actually BE out of Magenta, or your magenta ink nozzles may be clogged. I don't know what brand of printer or model you have, so I can't give you exact directions to clean the nozzles. The printer driver may have that ability.

If the printer gives magenta instead of red you have a problem with one of the other colors. Magenta needs other colors to print red. Print a cofiguration print and check witch color is bad or missing. Replace the cartrridge of the missing/bad color
Hi there. The reason for your problem is that the colour cartridge contains cyan, magenta and yellow ink, plus a black cartridge of course. All the other myriad colours are produced by mixing these four basic colours. So, if you print red, it requires ink from both the magenta and yellow cartridges. Thus if your red produces a yellow print, it means your magenta is not printing. This can be due to a number of reasons, mainly an empty or faulty magenta cartridge or blocked magenta print nozzles.
If you wish me to help you with sorting out the lack of magenta, please post a new comment to this effect.
Red is a combination of Magenta and Yellow. Print a nozzle check and observe for Magenta, Yellow and cyan. If the three colours are printed, no problem with the cartridge. Then it must be the problem of seeing colours in your monitor. .
