POWERMATE 6250. REPLACED A BURNED OUT PC BOARD

I JUST REPLACED A BURNED OUT PC BOARD AND RAN THE UNIT FOR ABOUT 10 HOURS AND THE POWER SHUT DOWN.
I CHECKED THE PC BOARD AND THE CAPACITOR MELTED AGAIN.
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?

Usually a bad ground to the board can cause this problem.

I cannot locate the owners manual for my Coleman PowerMate 6250 generator 10 hp? Any place I can find this online quickly thank you

Most PowerMate manuals are available here: http://www.powermate.com/productmanuals.php?cat_id=3 . However, describing it as the PowerMate 6250 10 HP generator is insufficient to find the correct manual. The Coleman PowerMate line has several models with 10 HP engines and a 6250 Starting Watt (5000 W running) capacity.

These include the Powermate PM0435005; the direct link for this manual is http://www.powermate.com/pdfs/2011/12/29/pm0435005.02.pdf .

Please add a comment with the actual model number of your generator if you need further assistance with finding the correct manual for your generator.

I hope this helps.

My family and i have ran off genorators for 2

some generators honda springs to mind have a thermal cutout usually connected to the on / off switch wiring for the ignition they usually come in the form of a little bolt on part. trace the wiring and see what you can find.
beware though your machine could be overheating and the cut out working correctly.
make sure that the cooling fan on the engine is ok there are no blockages / restrictions and is your machine in a suitable place to get plenty of cool air ?

Coleman Powermate 6250 generator - shut off generator at 11pm after v4 hours normal use. At 5am, wouldn't start, pull rope wouldn't move to start. A few hours later while draining oil found mostly gas...

the usual reason is a stuck float in your carburator , can be caused by dirt/rust etc , remove carb bowl and clean , there is also a very small needle valve which is attached to this float ( metering needle ) these can leak.
if all else fails always turn off the fuel supply to the generator whilst not in use

How many gal tank is the Powermate 6250 10 KW

Nearly all of the Powermates have the same 5 gallon fuel tank.
I'm a little confused, the Powermate 6250s are all 5Kw generators with 6250 watt surge ratings. Is yours really a 10Kw or did I misunderstand which generator you have?

Not a 6250W but a 6500W Coleman Powermate Black Max.

Call Pramac Co. at 770-218-5430. I get parts from them every week. A service center left holding the bag when Coleman/Powermate went out. Ken's Repair
