The gas burner cooktop clicks even when all dials are off

Hi nschulman,

I believe your ignition switches have come in to contact with either water or moisture.

Please read my below Tip on how to fix the problem:

If it does not solve your problem, I'd suggest replacing the ignition switches.

Try Google your manufacture name model # and the word parts. This will not correct your lighting problem. It sounds like you have a igniter switch problem.

Magic chef oven: lights hard but when lit comes up to or near temp sputters and will not come back on???

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the correct procedure for performing this test. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

PILOT CLICKING

Dawnie, under each burner control there is a valve and a switch. One of your switches has either become wet or shorted out. This is why it's clicking. Sometimes grease gets in them and causes this problem. The part number for the switch is 7403p367-60. You can look it up on the net to see what Im talking about. Not a hard fix. Catriver..post back.
