Water dispenser ice maker

Water stopped dispensing all of a sudden. After 3 years and 4 months since purchase water just stopped dispensing but is still making ice. What is wrong? I took the filter out and put in the plug and still no water. I hear a relay or something click in the back when pushing in the dispense lever but nothing comes out.

If you check the backside of your refrigerator...

There are TWO (2) different electric water-valves...
A generic WHIRLPOOL part number = wr57x10032
(typically you can hear the "THUMP" when the are working...

WATCH this attached video...

Hope this is helpful...

SOURCE: no water comes out of ice and water dispenser.

Either the inlet filter is plugged, or the valve is not opening. You will have to trace the water line to access these.

SOURCE: GE Refriderator model GSL25KGRB RB water dispenser no water.

Water line may be frozen right where it enters the ice maker. Or the water valve may not be working.

SOURCE: GE Profile PFSS5NJWA SS water dispenser not

We have the same model and just had exactly the same problem. The coil behind the fresh produce trays is frozen. There are 2 coils, one provides water for the water dispenser and the other to the ice maker. Looking into the fridge the water dispenser coil is on the right hand side. We unplugged the fridge for a couple of hours and the problem has been solved. Try increasing the temperature of your fridge by a degree or two.

GE GSH25JFRF BB ice maker doesn't dispense. Water dispenses and ice maker makes ice but won't come out.

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze

I own a Thermador Freedom Collection 18 inch Built-in Freezer Column with Exterior Ice and Water Dispenser Model T18ID80NRP and have had this unit for approx. 2 years as a companion unit to my Thermador...

No solution but just a warning. We had this same thing happen. They sent a repairman to replace the control board. Then did it again. Just before Christmas, the WATER started dispensing by itself. Luckily, I was nearby and heard it or the damage would have been extensive from flooding. They are now 'working on' getting a response from Thermador. I feel like this thing is just a homeowners claim waiting to happen.

I have a GE Refriderator about 3 years old. Recently the water dispenser stopped working, and the ice maker stopped as well. The ice maker seems to freeze up as it dispenses water in the tray to make ice....

Are you having any cooling problems whatsoever, anywhere? Is there any area in the unit that you dont put food for cooling reasons? if cooling is fine, check the water pressure as it comes into the refrigerator, you wil have to disconnect the water line at the solenoid valve behind the fridge. If pressure is good, pour 4-8 oz of water into ice maker, does it eject those cubes within 24 hours? then replace your water valve(s) One assembly houses a solenoid for both the ice maker and the water dispenser, both solenoids are bad.

Ice maker quit qorking

The chute where the ice drops through could be icing up, try removing the I bin and cleaning the ice build up out.

Water dispenser no longer works.

Where the water supply connects to the Ref there is one water valve but, two solenoids. One for the water and one for the ice maker. An OHM meter will tell you if these solenoids are good.

Solenoids good;
Set the meter to volts and check if power is getting to the water solenoid while pressing the water despensor. No power, bad switch.

Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:
Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.

Ice Maker not working at all

I have the same refrigerator and was having a very similar problem. My water would dispense just fine, but the ice maker suddenly began making partial cubes of ice, then quit making ice, than started again before finally stopping again. At first I thought it was because the fill tube coming from the back of the frig was frozen, but after clearing it the problem persisted. I traced the problem back to the valve at the back right corner of the frig. I disconnected the power inputs and water lines, then took the valve apart. On the side that feeds the ice maker there is a small washer inside of the valve with a very small hole that only allows a limited amount of water flow through it. A small pieced of rubber had broken loose from another section of the valve an was clogging this small hole. I cleaned the entire valve system and reassembled it. The ice maker is now back in action!!! The fill tube going into the tray had frozen because of the small trickle of water that was going into it was not sufficient to keep it from freezing. Make sure this is still clear before turning everything back on. I hope this helps several of you out there, as this seems to be a common problem.
