I deleted my version details....

I accidentally deleted my version details and it is telling me that it can not load the main screen and to switch to recovery mode. Which I have done, and I have downloaded the fixes that were suggested on here and when the program tries to fix it. It says "Error cannot read the version details." Please Help!!

Yup i just fixed mine Please copy and paste the following link into your web browser address bar, and then click Go or hit your Enter key. When prompted, choose the option to Save the file to your Desktop. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe Once you have downloaded the file, please follow these instructions. 1) Double click on My Computer so that you can see it on your screen. 2) Turn the player off. 3) On the top of the player is a Hold switch, move it to the right (toward the headphone jack) so you see Orange. 4) On the left hand side of the player is a Record button, press and hold it while connecting the player to the computer. Continue holding the Record button until you see a new icon under My Computer called 16MB FORMAT. Once you see that icon you may release the Record button. 5) Double click the file you downloaded earlier and run it. Follow all of the on-screen instructions, and when you get to the prompt where it asks you whether you would like to Format it, choose Yes. Once it is done, click Finish. 6) Disconnect the player and look at the screen. Several things will be displayed, and when you see Key Lock, System Shutdown, move the Hold switch on the top back to the left. 7) Turn the player on and watch the screen. If you see a Refresh Database Fail error, you will need to follow steps 1-7 again until you do not get the error. If it does not work the first time, it could take up to 3 times for it to work.

Sansa 260 R load main image failed message

Hello,

The Sansa e260 Rhapsody could be recovered by resetting the player.
How to reset the player :
1. Player switched on.
2. Press and hold the power button for approximately 30 seconds.
3. Put the player back on.

When the fault is not resolved a firmware update / reinstallation needs to be made. There are 2 steps needed for getting new firmware on the player.

Step 1: switching the player into recovery mode / MSC mode

1. Turn off the player.
2. Slide the Hold/Lock switch on top of the player so an orange color is showing.
3. Press and hold the REC button and connect the device to the computer.
4. A message will appear on the device display screen confirming the connection and a memory partition will be viewable in My Computer.
5. Release the REC button.
Step 2: Update the firmware ( updating firmware always in MSC mode, see Step 1 )
Use next link for updating the firmware:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/306
The Sansa updater installation on the computer should be the easiest way to update firmware.

Sansa e280 Main Image Wont Load Problem, Plus firmware updater doesn't work

Do not worry! I had the same problem as you before and got it fixed perfectly! Go to this thread and read the instructions carefully.

Note that doing this will delete all files in your player, so I recommend you to save your files somewhere before doing this.

to run recovery mode is done by 1. Enabling the Hold Switch on the device when it is showing red 2. Press the record button then press the Menu/Power Button then it will show welcome to recovery mode on the screen of the player. I want to ask are you receiving Load Main Image Failed Switch to Recovery mode? If so reloading the correct firmware for your device will resolve this issue. Take note that there are 3 models of the sansa E200 , the first one it the Version 1 while the second one is the Rhapsody Model the one that has a rhapsody channel on it and the latest one which is the Version 2 that supports audible and SDHC cards.

Load main image failed switch to recovery mode is on my screen and it is black I cant get it to do anything how do you reset it or switch to recovery mode?

(( Switch your Sansa E260 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E260 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" 5. Connect your E260 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E260 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the E260 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E260 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred. )) When i get to step two, and did what it told me, i get this ( Application failed to read the version details ) What should i do?!?!?!?!

I did not get the "Swtich to Recovery mode" screen, my screen was stuck on "Bad Track." I formatted the drive (which deleted EVERYTHING), and then i put the songs back on, and it works just fine. Try this, it might help.
