If the channel information changes when you change the channel number on the front of your cable box, it may be a cable problem, and they may have already corrected it.
if the cable box is connected to the round connector with threads on it the TV needs to be channel 3. then you can change channels with the cable box.
If the cable is not connected with that connector, (the one with the threads), you need to change the input of the TV to which ever method was used.
If all else fails, I think the TV will determine which hookup you have if you auto program.

SOURCE: Westinghouse LVM-37w1

I have had this problem since about superbowl time. If I powered the set off, waited 15-20 seconds, and then powered on, it would work again for a while. Repeating this drill a number of times would lead to stable operation. We resorted to a course of turning on some XM music from DirecTV when we weren't watching. I tried a technician knowledgeable on this set, and it would have cost $500-800 to repair the set. We learned from different forums that the likely culprit was either the power supply board or the LCD controller. We also picked up the rumor that Westinghouse had quit making replacement part. It would seem that the management of this organization has a death wish. TO THE CHASE: shopjimmy.com is now selling parts from canibalized sets. They have a non-DOA warranty and a good return policy. A power supply from "Jimmy" solved my problem. I have one important hint: To remove the back, take out the obvious screws and the base. Then remove the ~5/8" rods that protrude from the bottom. There is a screw up inside each rod.

SOURCE: No picture, sound ok

I have a similar issue. Sometimes the entire screen goes black and sometimes only one-half - either the top or bottom half goes black. The only solution we have found is to gently tap the TV (usually the front side) and the picture will come back for awhile. It almost seems heat related as it only goes out after the first 10 minutes of use. There must be a fix to this.

SOURCE: No sound on NON HD channels

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

Watching TV last night and all of a sudden the picture went out. We went have sound. Changed the HDMI connector and that did not help. This TV is only just over a year old

The picture just dropping out is not an HDMI cable but was a good beginning troubleshooting check. First thing I would do is to hook up another source to it and see if that plays video (ex...a DVD player) If the video plays on that then your TV is fine and it is your cable/satellite box. In that case contact the provider. If it does not show video then you blew your display board or your inverter in your TV. It is fixable but will mean taking apart the TV, identifying the board, getting a replacement and fixing it. I see this so much with the "box store bargain" TVs that I cannot preach enough....spend the extra 150 to 200 dollars on a commercial grade tv and get one to last 10 to 15 years. Hope this helps.

Have picture, but no sound

Take the audio directly off the cable/dish box to the speakers and you should be fine.

Our picture suddenly changed drastically from a clear sharp picture to a blurry, faded looking picture. Some colors are extremely bright, others are faded out. It is so bad it is not viewable.

Please check the flat cable connections between TCON board and the LCD panel. If this is ok, then it is either the TCON board or the LCD panel itself. Good luck.

My TV all of a sudden turned white and grey.

First, try to play DVD on your tv to determine if the problem is on TV itself. If the TV looks fine on DVD you have cable box connection problem if not you have faulty t-con board not bulb etc.

T-con is the responsible for colors and image graphics.

Hi,

I have few options for you to get the video back on HDMI:
1. Try out changing the video resolution on HDMI set up (select 480p..1080p).
2. Play NTSC disc (to get the 60Hz out from Player). If your are in US.
3. Select the TV system as AUTO/NTSC to get the 60Hz out only on HDMI.
4. if the Deep Color option is available in HDMI set up menu..set it to OFF.

Let me know if you tried all these and still no output.

Only dvd plays properly but vhs will not show picture.

Most likely you have the dvd part connected through component or svideo cables. Despite the fact that this is one unit, like other vcr/dvd combo units it acts as two separate units in the same box. The vcr will probably not play through those cables. As you have audio coming through I'd imagine that the audio is connected using red and white composite cable. Connect the video on the vcr side with composite yellow cable or run direct to tv with a coaxial cable.

You need a audio cable for sound. HDMI cable is only for picture. I use the comp 1 plugs myself, better picture. I found with my TV that the HDMI cable is only good if you have a digital box for it. You can also use the plug to hook your computer to off your graphics card and watch downloaded movies on.
