I bought a RCA RP5007 second hand. I bought a 8MB and a 16MB SmartMedia Card. When I put the 8MB in, the display flashing "Init" and nothing else happens. When I put the 16MB one, nothing happens at all. What can be the problem?
I had 2 of these units. Sadly they only support 4MB and 8MB cards. Trouble is that even though you can find those cards for fairly cheap, used of course, they no longer make that format and the smaller cards are almost impossible to locate.
Save some time and sanity and go buy a new recorder for $30 as have hours of storage and a UDb connection to boot.I had 2 of these units. Sadly they only support 4MB and 8MB cards. The adaptor is much thicker and longer than the Smartmedia card, so I don't beleive you can use it in the camera at all. I'd recommend you shop for 2nd hand Smartmedia cards instead.
If 3 images fills it up, the size of the memory card is probably only 4 or 8MB.
The camera can use Smartmedia cards up to 128MB.
You will probaly need to buy 2nd hand cards as Smartmedia cards are no longer manufactured.
I can send you a manual if you inform your email address.
I have the same camera and bought a 4GB PNY SD card and it wouldn't work, so I read the manual :) The manual says, "SD Memory Cards having the following storage capacity can be used on your camera (Toshiba PDR-3330):
8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB"
Hope this helps! -Kim
I don't know what you are doing, but my Nikon 4500
has a panoramic feature. It has nothing to do with the memory card. When you put it in panorama mode, on the second and subsequent shots, it shows about 1/3 of the previous shot in the viewfinder. You line that up with your present shot, and take the picture. The Nikon software, on a computer, can probably stitch the photos back together. You can do the same thing in an image editing program.
