Acer Aspire 3000 CD-RW/DVD not working

Try installing a new software program to play your DVDs. Also look for updated dvd player drivers from Acer site.

I WOULD suggest you to get a dvd burner that would burn all cds and dvds.

go to device manager, select CD/DVD rom and right click then select properties. check the DVD Region Tab and see what is selected. make sure it is set to your country. hope this helps

there is no problem with your driver but definitely you have a broken cd rom, you may need a cd rom replacement

You may have what is called a combo drive...it can play and burn cds but can only play dvds, not burn them. Look at the face plate on the drive and see what is written on it. If it has the following:
Recordable Drive = CD Burner
DVD = DVD Player
RW & DVD = DVD Burner

If recordable drive and DVD is on the drive but no RW, chances are its a combo drive. Keep us posted.

What is the make and model of your DVD/CD RWdrive?
Check to specification of your drive.
Some combo drives can only burn CDs only and read DVDs & CDs.

dvd driver stop working c drive was over laoded and the computer whent in to disk clean and deletelte the driver for the dvd rom i can no longer play cd dvd or use the crw or dvd RW ASPIRE 1360 2.8GHZ

If its the DVD/RW CD/RW unit it will possibly have...

I found your answer,
Grab you machine and look at the symbols on the disk draw.

The device you have is a CD/RW-DVD Rom.
What this means it is a CD Writer and a DVD Reader.
This device will never burn DVDs.sorry

To write DVDs you will need to buy DVD/RW device.
