Firmware update ruined my WGR614v7 - NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router

Best way is do a factory reset.Press and hold reset button during this procedure ,do not release the button until you are finished and you will be back to factory default.

1)Hold button 30 sec.
2)remove power cord hold 30 sec.
3)plug in power cord 30 sec.
You should now be in default factory mode,good to go.

This is a normal message. All it is is the software has not been written to say something like. "New firmware is being sent to the printer" instead they have used the words you are getting. As you have not waited long enough for it to complete you may well have ruined the firmware and the main board. If however the machine is still working then by all means try the update again and wait for it to finish. I wonder why you are doing the firmware update as it is for a machine that is suffering problems. If the machine is working ok then DO NOT update the firmware.

This is because you are telling the download window to open the file after downloading it. You aren't supposed to open this file under Windows, you're supposed to ship the file into the router. Windows has no idea how to open it, and that's what it's telling you. Instead, choose the option to just store the download in a file.

You need to install the firmware from your router. You need to open up Internet Explorer and type in the router IP address in the address bar. Usually, 192.168.1.1. Enter user name and password. Look for a firmware tab and follow the instructions.

Chipset "G" is an update of the GPS firmware for the SiRFstarIII receiver in the flip up antenna. I would update the firmware because it has updates to help improve satellite acquisition.

Make sure the player is switched off.

Open Philips Device Manager.

Press and hold [VOL+] whilst connecting it to the PC.

PC will report and error with your device.

Follow on screen prompts.

This will format the player and restore the firmware.

Firmware update problems are usually caused by a low battery. If you battery is low leave the player for 5 minutes before disconnecting from the PC.

You are describing a software and firmware update.
The software update should not have any effect on the camera start-up, but the firmware update could.
Please check to see if there were any instructions sent with the firmware files (like a Read Me file or release notes), which might give you special instructions for properly loading the firmware. Some manufacturers require that you hold down certain buttons on the device when power cycling to load the firmware.
Also ALWAYS be sure to have newly charged batteries of the right type, because a power failure in the middle of a firmware upgrade can ruin a device, requiring service.
Go to their web site to get details about the firmware update, if you are sure you did infact update firmware. Also, their tech support should be able to assist you with additional issues if their recent release is problematice for any reason.
