Singer simple comes with limited feet have been unable to find

The singer 3116 does not come with a zipper foot, a hemmer foot for small hems, overall singer sites are not helpful with this problem. this is a poorly designed machine with no customer support. this one (3116) is just about to be sent back to singer. if you design a low end machine it should still work properly. i have been sewing for 30 years and bought a basic singer sewing machine and it lasted for 17 years with no repairs. the 3116 is cheap, cheap, cheap and i spend more time adjusting this machine than sewing. if everyone who was disatisfied with their 3116 sent it back to singer they may consider making a beginner machine like the one that lasted for 17 years that i had. it is for beginners because they don't realize the machine's the problem

Iwant to sew a separating zipper on a coat. what does the zipper foot look like for singer model 3116?

Just like the regular working foot, most zipper feet look the same regardless of machine. At least, the part of the foot that is actually in contact with the work: small, solid--no thread slot or needle well in the middle--and a small notch on each of the left and right sides.

Change needle position

http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/438_3116.pdf see p. 52. You change the position of the zipper foot, not the position of the needle, with this machine.

Does the singer 3116 come with a blind stitch for hemming

Most sewing machines come with a blind hem stitch. It is the one that looks like several small zig-zags then occasionally a large one, or several straight stitches then a large zig-zag. Either will result in an invisible hem.

Some machines have a special foot but it is not necessary, mine does not. There is however a special way of folding the fabric.

What are he different feet used for?

The main types of feet are:
1. ZigZag foot. This has a wide gap for the needle to move from side to side and the two pointy ends of the feet curve upwards. This is used for ZigZag and decorative stitches,
2. Straight Stitch foot. This has a small round gap and one side is usually wider than the other. It's used for straight stitching.
3. Rolled-Hem foot. This has a spiral in the middle and is used for rolling and sewing hems neatly.
4. Zipper Foot. This has no gap as the needle goes to one side or the other of the foot. It usually has two attachment points for snapping on to the shank, depending on which side of the zipper you are sewing.
5. Invisble Hem foot. Used for making invisible hems. It's hard to describe how it looks. Mine has extra white plastic parts around it and some kind of screw to make adjustments as to width etc.
6. Buttonhole foot. My buttonhole foot is white and has numbers along one edge. The size of the buttonhole can be altered, using the numbers as a guide.
7. Edging foot. This has a strip of springy metal on the left side and is used to guide the material into the path of the needle in order to sew close to the edge to prevent fraying.
8. Rolling foot. This has rollers and is useful for sewing thicker materials or quilts etc. It is similar, but not as good as a walking foot.
9. You might also have a Teflon ZigZag foot, it's the same as the zigzag foot but made of white plastic. It's used for sewing vinyl and leather materials.
I think that's it, hope this helps!

Bought blind hem stitch for a 3116 singer and the needle hits it

I think you may have to make an adjustment on your blind hem foot, it also could be the wrong fit for your machine.
