SOURCE: Water leaking behind freezer wall

I would make sure the fill tube in the freezer is in the proper place on the icemaker. there is usually a slot it will rest in or on. If it is it the right place. The water valve may not be closing in time and allowing excess water to fill into the icemaker causing it to over flow. On some icemakers there is a adjustment screw on the icemaker to increase or decrease the amount of water that fills. If not I would check the valve and replace it if nessacary.

SOURCE: 10 yr old Frigidaire ice maker stopped making ice

try forcing the cycle by manually triggering the cycle a few times. Sometimes you can detach the trip arm or turn the tray by hand by disconnecting it from the gear. There may have been a switch bumped to turn it off or the switch somehow jammed. Maybe check for freeze-up. If there is water in it, it's going somewhere.

SOURCE: ice is forming around fan in back of freezer compartment

The defrost system is not doing it's job. I bet if you took the panel off below the fan you will see more ice on the cooling coils. There should be a light coat of frost on the coils but not a heavy ice build up. There is a heating element at the bottom area of these coils which should be defrosting all this ice.

1. A defrost timer turns this heating element on.

2. The heating element melts the ice.

3. A thermo disc attached to the coils will turn the heater off.

One or more of these are not doing it's job.

SOURCE: puddle/ice in freezer compartment of my side by side

Take the back panel off the freezer, the drain tube is probably blocked, might have to melt all ice with hot water then take back off and clear tube all the way to the pan in the back

SOURCE: my freezer compartment is making

The vibration is usually an unballance, check the freezer fan blade for any broken pieces. The water freeze will cause the Ice maker to not work..if the fill valve for the ice maker leaks, even a small bit it will freeze up on that "inlet ramp" if so, replace the fill valve. Else, I've found a unit not used, left alone for a week or more.. that tube still freezes up...gets too cold?

The feezer side is making a loud noise and will not stop. it seems to still be cooling just fine on both sides. thier is no burning smell or anything. i tried dissconnecting the ice maker and that did...

From what you're describing it sounds like the freezer fan motor is causing the noise you hear. The freezer fan is the only moving part in the freezer section. I recommend replacing the freezer fan motor & fan blade together. If there is ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer then the sound is likely from the fan blade hitting the ice and you will need to defrost the unit.

A broken fan blade can cause a noisy motor. or a buildup of ice can cause some noise. If thes aren't the case you will need to have the fan motor replaced.

Freezer compartment motor suddenly very noisy for about 1 hour and temperature has gone up to -3.8

Depending on the noise the motor itself is bad or there is ice buildup that the blades are hitting on. Your solution is to remove the back panel and look for ice/frost. If there is excessive buildup there is a component in the defrost circuit not functioning correctly. If just a noisy fan it will need replaced. Eric

Neverending ice cystals buildup in freezer

Hi Rachel,

Opened 3-10 times per day, per week, per month?

There is only one possible source of these ice crystals -- moisture precipitating from the air (condensate) -- this air is coming from outside the freezer. It's either getting in when the freezer is opened or coming in around the gasket.

You might try a very thin coat of vaseline on the gasket to get a better seal.

Fridgidare/Electrolux top freezer not freezing fan stays on.

Look for ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer.
If ice is there you have a defrost parts issue.
If not, check the compressor to make sure it is running.
