Ok, the target disk is the one you are going to write to, has this disk ever been used for anything else? And depending on the disk are you sure you have the correct side up? No offence, but we were using different colored disks for a time, and the users kept them in upside down, because they though it looked right, they never asked how they went it, it was shinier on one side and they thought that the write side. When you didn't work, they would get that same error message.
There is some space reserved for dvd information, error information etc. So solution is make the file archive by right click on file ->proprties-> click archive. After that use winrar and compress. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
When you push the button to open/close the drawer, does it work,
i.e., is there electrical power reaching the drive?
Did you put a disk into the "source" drive?
Is the same disk recognized when you put that disk into any other computer?
If so, then the "source" drive is damaged, and needs to be repaired/replaced.
Try a different "blank" disk.
If not any better, then take the unit to a computer technician, to trouble-shoot the hardware that is used to write onto the "target" media.
Hi there check the source drive by placing a cd in the draw close n draw wait 2 seconds open and see if the cd has rotated. If not then the drive is faulty. If so you may still have a faulty source drive check by placing audio cd in there if sound great if not Faulty.
it's not the heads that actually have the problem, it's the head guide that's sticking whenever it reaches those tracks mentioned. you need to open the drive initially to be able to repair or clean the malfunctioning parts. the read-write lenses be cleaned with cotton buds, and the stainless steil head guides be wiped clean and oiled.
