There is debris blocking the paper path in the document feeder. This could be a staple or a shard of torn paper blocking the path wedged into a tooth of the diverter arm or a sensor flag. I would suggest that if there is a small wheel or knob closest to you when you raise the document feed lid, put a piece of #28 lbs card-stock into the document feeder guides, turn the wheel/knob to pull the paper/cardstock into the ADF and continue until it either pushes the shard/debris out or stops moving the paper no matter how much you turn the wheel/knob. This will tell you where in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) the blockage is located.

When i on the printer the number 3&5 flashes on the printer

Hi,
Those numbers could indicate a few things.
  • First number 3 means you need to check for paper jams.Turn on the printer.Open the scan unit or the front cover, check for any stuck papers inside and remove them.
  • Check the rear paper tray and remove any stuck papers.
  • Number 5 means you need to check the cartridges.Open the scanning unit and check if the cartridges are installed correctly and are the right cartridges.Install the correct FINE cartridges.
  • Turn printer off and on again.
  • If error continues you may have to replace the printhead.

Blue lines on the right and left sides of the scanned items

Usually this is cuased by something stuck on the scanner. if you have a small peice of dust stuck on it as the paper goes through the scan it thinks that it is all the way down the paper because it seen it all the way through the scan. Clean the scanning surface with a correct cleaner and it should go away and scan normally.

Paper stuck in printer, can't get it out.

(1) Slowly pull the paper out, either from the paper source or from the Paper Output Slot, whichever is easier.
ug_shoot12.jpg

(A) When printing from the Auto Sheet Feeder
(B) When printing from the Front Feeder
bullet_s.gif If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and remove it.
After removing all paper, close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), turn the machine off, and turn it back on.
* Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine.
bullet_s.gif If you cannot pull the paper out, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper will be ejected automatically.
(2) Reload the paper in the machine, and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turned off the machine in step 1, all print jobs in queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.

No image after scanning

The paper sensor must be checked. Check if there is a speck of paper stuck inside the sensor. Blow with a vacuum cleaner.

The scanner wont scan, everytime i add papers it will act like its about to scan but then says there is a jam.

These scanners have multiple sensors, that can check if there is a double feed or paper jam. May be one of them is faulty or a small piece of paper is stuck there. Remove/clean this and the scanner will be fine.

Paper feeds through straight at first then scans crooked at the end

This could be because of unclean rollers. The scanner picks paper neat, but images is crooked. This is because paper is stuck on one side and the other side is contnuing on the other, giving it the skew. There may be something sticky on the roller, possibily a left over cellophane tape. Remove it and clean with Isoporpyl alcohol. Dont use solvents.
