Bought a "new" 770 off of ebay. It is in pristine condition ... original box, unsent warentee card and all the documentation. Wouldn't power up. Charged the battery for 10 hours and did a hard reset. It came on and worked perfectly for about 19 minutes, It shut down and won't come back up. Did another hard reset. No good. Is it the battery, the internal battery or do I need to send it in to have it repaired. It is just like new and I think it is probably something simple but I am no tech genius.
These are older devices, and Lihium-Ion batteries degrade from the date of manufacture. You will most likely need to follow instructions (easy to find on the internet) to "fix" the battery. It needs two new cells.

The NEC Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device that was released in the early 2000s and uses Windows CE as its operating system. Since the device is no longer supported, it may be challenging to find software and drivers that are compatible with modern operating systems like Windows 10. Here are some steps you can take to transfer files and connect to the internet:
Get the necessary cables: You'll need a USB cable to connect the Mobilepro 770 to your Windows 10 PC. The cable should have a USB Type-A connector on one end and a mini-USB connector on the other.
Install ActiveSync: ActiveSync is software that allows you to synchronize files between your Mobilepro 770 and your PC. Unfortunately, ActiveSync is no longer available for download from Microsoft, but you may be able to find an archived version of the software on the internet. Install ActiveSync on your Windows 10 PC and connect your Mobilepro 770 to your PC using the USB cable. If the device is recognized, you should be able to transfer files between the two devices.
Connect to the internet: The Mobilepro 770 has a built-in Ethernet port that you can use to connect to a wired network. To connect to the internet, you'll need an Ethernet cable and a wired network connection. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Mobilepro 770's Ethernet port and the other end into your router or modem. You should be able to browse the internet using the Mobilepro 770's built-in web browser.
Install additional software: The Mobilepro 770 comes with a basic set of software, but you may want to install additional software to make the device more useful. You can download and install software from the internet, but make sure it's compatible with Windows CE and the Mobilepro 770.
Keep in mind that the Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device, and its performance and capabilities may be limited compared to modern devices. It's also possible that some of the software and drivers you need may no longer be available or supported.
I use a 6 in 1 scandisk universal adapter that accepts SD and other storage cards. They can be purchased off the internet for about $30.00.
I put in my 1 & 2 gig cards and it works fine
Attach the AC power cord or adjust the power saving mode so the unit does not go into "standby" mode. This is caused by the unit going into "standby" mode when data is being transferred.
MobilePro 770 units with a serial number before MC-B004P3US-033 may have a lower fidelity voice recording capability. This may cause voice recognition software to not function properly. This issue is not experienced with new units.
With the Owner information screen or passwords enabled, it is possible that a deadlock condition can occur as the Graphics, Windowing, and Events Subsystem starts up.
The only work around at this time is to disable the owner information screen in Settings/Control Panel/Owner and/or to disable Passwords in Settings/Control Panel/Passwords.
