After sitting in the garage for 4 months my 2006 Honda CB250's battery was dead so I replaced the battery. When I started it up, it turned over OK, caught then the 30amp fuse blew. I replaced the fuse with a new 30amp fuse and it blew immediately again, I think before I even tried to start it. Can you suggest reasons why the fuse blows and where to look for a fix? thanks

Check for wire chafing on the frame that might allow the wire to short out. Also, look for signs of rodent issues like dropping, chewed material, seat stuffing etc. (rats and mice chew wiring). 6 months is plenty of time for them to cause some annoying issues. Good luck

SOURCE: 08 650 executive, new battery but charging system doesn't charge

Your running off the battery until it dies. Check your chargng system. It should put out 13.0-14.5 volts. If not then the current will flow from what ever source has the most voltage. Thus, your dead battery. Try changing he voltage regulator and then check the stator next. Sometime stators can have burned section on them and reduce the voltage produced to the battery. Also check for really good connectin to the terminals. This can rob current and voltage by upt o 40%.

Have a 2006 vtx1300c dead nothing works battery is 13 volts

Sounds like a wiring problem. I would start at the switch and go back to the starter checking all connections especially the ones you replaced.

Car has been sitting 5 months without being started

the battery may be shorted out. do you have a meter to check a batteries condition? if not take the battery into the parts store and they can tell you if it has a dead short in it which means the plates inside the battery have sulphated together and wont allow current to pass through them. lead acid batteries are real bad about this if they go completly dead even if they are newer batteries.

Bike has set for about a month. New battery was 4

Your battery looses about 1% per month sitting. Shooting 50 amps into your little battery didnt do it any good even though you felt better. You might have a dead cell but I doubt it in a 4 month old battery. You can do a hydro test on it (good reading is 1200) and a volt reading (above 10 is ok) or maybe just replace it.

I suggest you put it on trickle charge for 24 or more hours.

If you regularly let your bike set for more than a week, you may want to consider adding a fuel stabilizer which will prevent or at lease reduce the harmful buildup of varnish and other gunk in your fuel system. I like Sta-bil but there are others. You might inquire at the Honda shop what they recommend. You might also want to use something in the fuel to clean the system - popular is injector cleaner but I am not personally endorsing this. Ask the parts guy at your Honda shop.

I hope this helps you ...

Battery dead in 2006 lexus ls430

well i would start with testing the alternator first. meanwhile get a battery maintainer/charger to charge to battery while not in use.
the alternator test will tell you if the alternator is charging the battery while driving or not. usually your local autopart store will test it for free
