TOUCH PANEL & MICROCOMPUTER BOARD TEST FOR WHIRLPOOL....
The microwave oven may be provided with a self diagnostic routine that can be operated
through the touch pad keyboard. To enter the self-diagnostic routine:
1.While pressing the CANCEL keypad: a) Open the oven door. b) Unplug the microwave oven for 2-seconds and plug it back in. c) Release the CANCEL keypad and close the oven door. You will see the following display.
CHART NOTE: The humidity sensor test results will appear on the display after 8-seconds.If the tests are successful, "OK " will be displayed. If one or more of the tests fail, "ERR " will be displayed.. 2.When a keypad is pressed, a number according to the test chart will be displayed. When no keypad is pressed, a blank "O" (square) is displayed...
POWER FAILURE & FAILURE CODES Power Failure: After a power failure, the WELCOME screen will be displayed.
F2 Keyboard Failure: Refer to the Tech Sheet and conduct a touch panel continuity test.
F3 Humidity Sensor Failure: Refer to the Tech Sheet and test the sensor.
F6 Microwave Relay Failure: Check the microwave relay.
F7 Microcomputer Board Failure: Change the microcomputer board.
The resolution depends on the code being shown on the keypad. The first two things that come to mind are 1> The control panel's backup battery is low and not accepting a change and needs replaced, or 2> If the code on the keypad shows 'BF', this is Backup Failure, and it means that your backup communications device, such as a GSM Long Range Radio, is not functioning. If you see this code on the keypad, immediately call your local alarm company for a fix. If your communications are down, police / fire / ems will not be dispatched in the event of an alarm.

Cancel key drive line open
1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board). 2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).
f100 indicates hardrive problems.
power off machine,
power back on while holding down 0 & 8 on number keypad until beep is heard,
enter 690 on number keypad,
press start,
enter 2 on number keypad,
press yes on display and wait for machine to ask for reboot.
be patient may take a while and if it doesnt work could be hard drive failure.
if it is the hard drive it could also mean updating firmware on hard drive and machine.
We usually see F7 caused by a failure in the keypad (stuck key) and F1 caused by a failure in the control board (clock). This seems opposite to your experience. I would suggest first to power down the oven, unplug the keypad from the control board, power up the oven with the keypad unplugged. Give it some time (may take as much as 30 minutes or so), if no F1 error then problem is likely the keypad. If you still get an F1, then the problem is the control board and you should return it. If you still have trouble post your model number. Regards, www.fixyourboard.com
