SOURCE: RCA Home Theater model RTD315W

  • You need to change your audio settings in your TVs audio menu. Sounds like it is set to play only external source when connected, There will be a setting for all speakers to play, including TV's. Have your TV's volume up just a hair when changing your settings and you will be able to hear when it changes to what you want.

SOURCE: RCA LCD Flat Panel HDTV and RCA Home Theater System--No sound

Video comes from external device to TV - OUT on device and IN on TV.

Sound connects by the red/white cable set (or HDMI). Place set in Audio OUT ports on TV and Audio IN ports on DVD. Then select AUX IN on DVD.

What are you playing in it? If you are playing a cd, the system will default to playing the sound only in stereo. You can manually select a surround mode if this is the case.

CD will not play in surround. How do I set to have music play in surround?

Unless your CD's are DTS-encoded, you can only SIMULATE surround or employ Digital Sound Processing from stereo sources to create virtual sound spaces and effects. The manual describes it on page 13.

Like any spice, using sound modes is a matter of personal taste.

I have a LG LHB335 Blu-Ray home theater system, & a LG TV I can get Full surround sound when the blu-ray is play a DVD but not when just watching Reg TV. I use a HDMI, should I hook up sonething else ?...

LG documentation states:

When you use SIMPLINK function, you have to

connect to the OPTICAL IN 1 jack to enjoy TV
sound to your speaker system.

Basically you need to have the Audio go from TV to receiver and setup receiver to that Input to output surround sound to all speakers.

If you have a cable box or satellite receiver, hook that output into the receivers input and that should work.

My setup is DirectTv HDMI output goes into the LG Home Theater HDMI Input 1, and LG goes HDMI output into the TV HDMI input 1.
so to watch DirectTV, I switch LG Home theater to HDMI Input 1. and TV is on HDMI input 1 (to view LG HDMI output from DriectTV, Blu-Ray, Vudu, etc.)

Lg lht854....wont play sound out of rear and center speakers

Try setting it first on surround mode because it is normal for the rear speakers not to come on when it is the surround mode is off. For the center speakers make sure it is hooked up properly. Follow the instruction if you have one. Lastly I never heard of center speakers have two speakers in it but if it does and you only have one set of wire to it then one of the speakers is no good.

Lg home theater to lg plasma tv

This is a typical problem with TV broadcast UNLESS you use a matrix DSP surround sound mode, most DVD audio is either Dolby digital 5.1 surround or DTS multi-channel surround sound, unless you are viewing a HDTV broadcast with 5.1 Digital sound connected from the TV to the receiver then you are probably receiving a 2 channel Stereo sound format, I would suggest that you try to set your TV input mode to a audio Dolby Pro- Logic which will yield 5.1 and should engage all speakers.

No sound

if the speaker system is not playing from any source eg radio,cd , hard drive etc.... check base module has power and system cable inserted correctly. also check the connection is firm at rear of media centre. once all has been checked turn power to both base module and media centre off for 1 minute . if this doesn't work post and we have more things to try
