I have a Shiva Atom that has a logic fault. We use a DEC VAX system - this uses a protocol called LAT.
I have replaced the Shiva Atom with a second user item & copied the configuration onto the new unit & it is now OK, however, the VAX terminals no longer work. I have found that the LAT protocol is not licensed on the new device. Can anyoune help with this? I know its a long shot at this is a very old unit, but I really need to get LAT enabled. Thanks in advance
Since the only thing that changed was the Shiva Atom, I'm guessing that the license error is coming from the terminal server itself rather than the VAX, corrrect? My only suggestion would be to replace the ethernet chip on the new server with the one from the old server. Perhaps the license is tied to that address. It should be a small 8 pin IC in a socket. At the time of these units being built, the Ethernet ID chips were usually installed in sockets.
Hope this helps,
Dan
