Washer only fills. then completly dead.(timer still advance)

Whirlpool built amana washer mod#ntw5100tq0, will only fill. wont aggitate, spin, pump, not even a low hum from the motor. the timer still runs. the lid switch is fine, harness conections to timer and motor are fine, nothing restricting anywhere. not sure if i have a motor, capacitor, or timer problem

coupler is fine. motor doesnt even try to start, no noise at all. and its not the lid switch. a cut off would explain this, but i am not aware of one, or ever saw one on these motors. where is it located exactly?

Is there any humming coming from under or front of your washer? whirlpool built machines for about 10 years now are "direct drive" ...the motor has a plastic coupling held in place by a rubberish plastic donut type of thing, its an inexpensive fix and there are videos on youtube on how its repaired..its under 10 bucks and usually cures any lack of agitation/ spinning ...i had a roper by whirlpool and once i replaced it from a parts machine i salvaged it was fine.. so check you motor coupler/ coupling and that maybe your answer, if not there is a set of wires and a cut off in back of the motor to prevent overheating, which may have tripped..also a good point to check.. good luck

GE washer wont drain or spin, lid switch has been replaced and so has the timer. At the start of cycle it fills and aggitates properly.

If the machine tries to spin for a few seconds and shuts down because the tub is full of water, then - The first thing I would do is check the pump. You may have something blocking the pump or the pump could have failed. Newer models built within the last 10 - 15 years must drain their water down first before they are able to spin.

It wont complete cycle and empty the water just hums for a while and then turns its self off

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

My Amana LWA60AW washing machine won't agitate.

Some timer dials will not turn all the time they will sit for awhile then advance . If it don't move for a long time sounds like you have a bad timer motor.
Some motors can be replaced and some you have to replace the complete timer.

Washer fills, drains instead of agitating, fills, etc

ON THIS MACHINE WHEN IT AGGITATES MOTOR ROTATES ONE DIRECTION, WHEN IT PUMPS OUT AND SPINS IT ROTATES THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. YOUR MACHINE IS ROTATING THE WRONG DIRECTION WHEN IT FILLS., INDICATING THAT THE TIMER IS SENDING VOLTAGE TO WRONG WIRES. SOLUTION , REPLACE TIMER.
PS: MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE PLUGGED IN TO MOTOR. WHILE THIS IS UNLIKELY , I HAVE SEEN THIS BE THE PROBLEM.

Washer clothes

Does the washer fill normally and just stop? Or, does the washer fill, go through a complete cycle, and just won't drain? There could be a couple of problems that cause a no drain issue. 1. FILL NORMALLY & STOPS, WILL NOT SPIN - This is usually a bad lid switch. If you open and close the lid, you should hear a "click", indicating the switch is working. 2. FILL NORMALLY, AGITATES, WILL NOT DRAIN - This could be a clogged drain pump, pinched hose, clogged rain line. Also, you need to make sure timer is advancing properly. If the timer never advances, the washer will fill, but won't go into agitate or spin. Let me know if this is helpful.
