How do you charge a 2bg go gear? trued laptip but no luck my in mp3 it won't come on

Your laptop has to have a USB 2.0 port. Many laptops do not even have enough power to properly run an mp3 player. If your laptop is definitely compatible, here is the method to force recognition (note: the Philips HDD series of GoGear needs a proprietary adapter, so if your model # starts with HDD, make sure you have the original adapter):

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

SA9200 device manager problems

OK - you messed up somehow. Instead of downloading the Philips Device Manager from Philips' official site, you have downloaded malware. The only legitimate source for the Philips Device Manager is www.usasupport.philips.com

Download the legitimate version and plug your mp3 player into the computer. The "Repair" button will then appear.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

This could be because your software isn't compatible for Windows Vista.

I've looked on Philips site for any software for that mp3 player and campatible with Vista, but i had no luck.

Have you tryed connecting it to your computer and using Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to add your songs. If now and you want to try go to Media Player 10 or 11 which ever you have if you haven't got a latest version download here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

When you've successfully installed media player 11 you've opened media player 11 at the top click on the link called "Sync" once you've done that if your mp3 players been connnected it sshould show a little mp3 player in the top right of the pane.

Now to add music yu simply drag and drop the music you want on your mp3 player to where it says "Drag items here" once you've done that just click on "Start Snyc" at the bottom.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful in some way. Further problems just leave a comment on this page and i will get back to you a.s.a.p.

Charging problem....

You might have a "bad" song? Try wipping the songs off and resyncing youre player. Also, for the charging problem. Are you charging it through your computer? I've found that these players charge ALOT better through an AC outlet. I hope this helps.

Try this link from the Philips site. It's what they said to do to put pictures on your player. I'm going to try it on mine soon. I'll post back and tell you how it goes.. I hope it works.. Just follow the instructions..
