My epson LX-300 printer got wrong. it's printed strange character seem wingdings character. i used continous form, LX300 pulled the paper over n over. pls tell me how solve it tks

I guess you can change fonts using control characters but I don't know if you can embad tham in a word doc. No way to test it because I don't have this printer.I remember having done it in early days of DOS word processing with Wordstar.

Hold ALT and type the command character - the numbers 27. In notebook will look like an arrow to the left, followed by writing a command character, examples:
? P Selects 10 cpi
? M Selecting the 12 CPI
? ? Select dense Print - 15 CPI (this character is typed by holding the ALT key figures 15)

Check the printer settings about page length by the procedure given in the user manual.
If OK check your software if it is giving soft commands to adjust paper lengths.

I have some problem, but now have solved
1. replace your original epson lx-300+II driver by IBM ProPrinter II from windows installation driver.
2. in control panel-->printer and fax-->choose IBM Proprinter II ---> click File-->server properties--> click form tab--> chek create new and fill new paper size and don't forget give a name (ex. 8.5x6)--> save form
3.In printer and faxs right click IBM Proprinter II-->choose properties--> click device setting tab --> change tractor feed, manual paper feed and upper paper tray feed to new name (8.5x6)
4. Good luck

Check the paper type / size options in the printer dialog box in windows.
If you are printing in character (DOS) mode. Check the predefined setting of paper length (refer you manual).
Your printing software can also define the paper size using soft codes.

solve this problem

change the fonts of the printer by pressing the font button on the panel (Refer user manual for more details)

it print on the sides only even though the paper is fitted well give solution to solve this problem

I went through the manual of LX300 printer series.I believe that if u read that manual, you can Fix the problem as it has all instruction about the Reverse feed and pull tractor mechanism.

use the com1, and use a baud rate like 9600, with 8 and 1 bit stop. dont. be sure that is in ESC/P or IBM as you requiered. if your software use directly the serial port, be sure that the bios set up is properly. i think that the lx300+ have less buffer than lx300+2
and if you use high speed, could loose info.

hi there, your problem is in page setup. make a custom size and it will print inside your paper sheet. ty
