Created and burned a DVD with imac (iDVD) software. Plays fine on computer, but music skips when I play on Zenith DVD Player. Tried burning at slower speed, but same issue. Can anyone help? Thanks. DVDs created with iMovie/iDVD '09 have lots of skips (audio/video advance about 10 seconds) when played on Zenith DVB216 DVD player. Works fine on a computer. Haven't tried any other dvd players yet.

How old is the DVD player? May need tracking adjustment. Contact Zenith. Try it on a friend's device. Does it play on their's? A store like Best Buy (if Amazon hasn't put them out of business) may let you try it on a new machine.

SOURCE: Created and burned a DVD with imac (iDVD)

The Audio file may not be supported on the DVD player, or try another disk in the DVD player (another movie) see if the sound still skips

you could check the red and white audio cables (or HDMI if you have it) make sure they are not loose or disconnected

I made my slide show and it does great when I play it on the computer. I burned it to a DVD-R and when I play the DVD on a player it freezes and skips. Tried it on different players and still did the same....

Many computers can play many file formats,
BUT...
Not all DVD players can play all files.
What file format is the slide show saved as?
AVI?
Download a freeware conversion program (if you don't have one) and try another format.
My latest DVD player plays about six video formats, JPG images, but battles with AVI, due to it's many variations of format (dimensions, resolution, color, frame-rate, interleaving, etc).

Can i play Xvid files on my 622 dvd player? if not which kind of video files does it play?

Im assuming your talking about the Philips DVD 622. You cannot play any video files unless they are burned to a CD or DVD in the standard DVD format. It can play certain audio formats but cannot play different video formats.

IDVD movie opens before menu when played on DVD player

In your iDVD project go into the DVD Map menu.
(Little flow chart like icon in the bottom-middle of the iDVD menu screen.)

Look for the very first icon in the map. (Upper left)
This has a small DVD symbol and a play icon on it.
Delete this icon.
Re-burn your DVD.
The menu should be shown first now when you play the DVD.

IDVD: Problems with burned DVD.

Try a different brand of blank DVD.
If that doesn't work any better, and your MacBook Pro is in fact "brand new," bring it to the Apple Store, because you have warranty redress.

Burning DVD files that do not play

within the softare that you use for burning, before you actually choose to burn you should have two options, one option is to burn so your computer and most other dvd/computers can recognise it, or two burn so only your computer can recognise it. (It's a security thing.) Check this setting. When you insert a blank dvd into your drive and open the software, choose dvd then look at the screen for the options that it gives you.

Acer dvd problem

When you burn dvd's to play on DVD players dont burn them as Data dvd they will not play. When you burn the DVD movie try to burn it using a DVD player compatible profile and this depends on the application software you are using to burn the DVD.

Do the DVD play on your computer from DVD or even from the file on hard drive.

If it does not play from the file on hard drive then the file is corrupted on downloading or you dont have a proper dvd palying software like PowerDVD

If it plays from the software but does not play from the DVD on your computer, then it means your DVD burner softaware corrupts file information on burning. Try using a different burning software.

If it plays DVD on your computer but not on the DVD player then your DVD burning profile you selecting is not compatible with your player its possibly burning Data DVD.
