What is the bolt pattern to tourq the head
To make it easier to follow, I'm re-numbering the bolts. Standing at the drivers side, beginning at the row on the passenger side, The row under the valve cover) consider the bolt #'s as 1234567 left to right (front to back). The numbers of the row closest to you in the same order then are 8 9 10 11 12 13 14. Use silicone sealant on bolt # 8.
Tighten in this order: 4, 11, 10, 3, 5, 12, 9, 2, 6, 13, 8, 1, 7, 14. Torque to 25 foot pounds first time around, then to 45 lbs, then last time around all are tightened to 110 foot lbs EXCEPT #8 which is set at 100.
though I have seen people re-use the original bolts, it is advisable to buy new ones, especially if the engine overheated.
best to draw yourself a quick diagram with my numbering and check off each number as you tighten it. You should have three check marks at each number when you are finished.
I generally use fel-pro blue gaskets as they don't need re-torquing after warm up.
