Purchase authorized Cuisinart® replacement parts and accessories for Food Processor Replacement Parts direct ... Discontinued 7 Cup Food Processor (DLC-5).
Missing: capacitor ' Must include: capacitor
This is a great source for owner manuals. It's free and if you can't find it on this website, then go directly to Cuisinart website. Most companies have downloadable manuals for their products. Good luck!
Remove the work bowl completely. Turn the machine on and use a pen to depress the dark grey or black button on the base of the food processor. If the motor doesn't spin, it needs repair. If there is spinning:
Make sure the handle of the bowl is facing the front of the food processor. Place the lid tab just to the left of the handle and slide it toward the handle until it won't turn anymore. Remove the pusher sleeve from the lid and reinsert it with the lock facing the front of the food processor. Slide the lock into the locked psoition. If it still doesn't work, replace the third piece on the work bowl - the one piece that you haven't replaced. It will then work.
Those older Cuisinart food processors have motors that generally last forever. But a replacement bowl can cost $118.00 or more. The newer processors like the DLC-8S do have a 3-year general warranty and a 5-year motor warranty. The new DLC-2011, 2007, 2014 series etc. have 10-year motor warranties. I like the collect the oldies, but the new ones have few problems even though they are made in China. If an old processor's plastic breaks, you have to buy a completely new bowl set - if a new processor's plastic breaks, then you can buy a single component piece to solve the problem. Hope this helps.
Remove the work bowl from the base of the food processor, and separate the bowl, lid, and pusher sleeve. Plug the base into the wall outlet, turn the food processor ON, and then use a pen to press in the dark grey or black button on top of the base of the food processor - if you hear some kind of noise, then your motor is still good. Put the work bowl on first, with the handle facing the front of the food processor. Put the lid on, with the lid lined up with the handle of the work bowl. Put the pusher sleeve in the lid, with the metal piece facing the front of the processor. Your processor should now turn on.
If it doesn't call Cuisinart and see if you are still in-warranty (3-year warranty).
