No audio output on the speakers of TDK NX-4CD.How do I troubleshoot?

Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Lost manual. I need to know how to hook a TDK-3826 dual recorder to a PA System at church to record the services and what CDs to use.

Hi wpless43!
The TDK-3826 supports analog input/output, digital coaxail input/output, and digital optical input/output. To connect a PA system, you'll have to determine what type of connection it uses. If your PA system uses an analog connection, it will have two audio cables, one for the left sound channel and one for the right channel. These are color coded and can be connected to analog connections on the back of recorder. Coaxail and optical connections are both single cable connections, and can be connected to their respective locations on the back of the recorder.

Regardless of the connection used, you'll want to connect one of the outputs of the PA system to the recorder if you want record. If you want to use the recorder to play back audio over the PA, you'll want to connect the output of the recorder to the input of your PA. Most PAs support multiple outputs and inputs, so you should be able to connect the recorder input and output at the same time.

You'll want to use CD-R/RW discs to record, but make sure they are audio discs (See image). joehaydu.jpg
You can find a copy of the manual for the TDK-3826 at http://audio.manualsonline.com/mdownloads/bd4c0d62-6f82-4bfb-bf83-8d832f3fe222.pdf. Hope that helps!

I have not been able to record LP's. The instructions mention hooking up the cables to the receiver outputs down to the TDK deck. Which outputs? Tape, Aux,? I tried splitting off of my phono outputs with...

your phono outputs are a whole diff ball of wax than aux or tape etc, whole diff signal, all that they should run to is phono in on the receiver. You are using the cd recorder as a tape deck more or less, so use tape out to line in on the tdk, and tape in from tdk output. so..when spinning record, you have receiver set on phono, and the tdk should also be receiving that signal, to playback you would hit tape monitor button on the receiver and hear what the tdk has done, or is doing.

Gamecube, output problem.

There is no way to switch this back and forth, if the rca jacks work and the fr jack doesnot there is a problem extending from the game unit itself which works on a certain amount electrical current to maintain signal which is not required for digital/rca. check your rca connections, if they work then your problem is in the rf converter and it should be replaced and or just purchase a cheap switching unit that splits between the rf and the rca on channels 3 or 4. Good Luck and let me know what happens.

Tapes sounding funny

try using a smaller tapetime, the grinding noise your hearing is the gears of the tape take up within the casette not the camera, it seems the Sony tapes are 120mins long and the Sony tapes are heavier than TDK and your spool take up on the camera can't take it. the TDK tapes you were previously using may have been a shorter time than 120minute?...try any Hi 8 60min tapes instead. not the 120, they can be too heavy for the take up spool motor of the camera and all its doing is stretching and winding the cassette tape and unable to pull it with a 120 min cassette

Recording

You just need to plug your mic into a mixing board, and then take an output off the board into your 5900.
